The best idea I've read that makes the most sense, although tough in practice, is to make one season long discussion thread with link to threads for each individual episode in the OP. You just anchor each individual thread immediately, so they're only accessible though the OP master thread.

So tired OP would be: Stranger Things Season 3 Official Thread. And the OP would have a link to a thread for each episode. That way people can discuss the episodes as they watch them in anchored threads that won't clutter the board, and the overall season can be discussed in the main bumpable OP.

Also, spoiler free threads after a property had been released have never made sense to me. If you don't want to be spoiled after something is release, don't discuss it on the internet until you've seen it.

They used to do this on this board a few years ago. I seem to remember it being done with Arrested Development Season 4 specifically, and I'm sure it was done with others as well. I thought it worked well.

looking for? it's pretty heavy handed in the 2 most recent examples I can think of (ghostbusters 2016 and the last jedi)
I don't particularly care if the characters in my movies are male or female, black or white, gay or straight. All I ask is that they produce a quality movie. Neither of your two examples did that and as far as I'm concerned it had nothing to do with gender, race, or sexual preference.

Except that is 100% of the reason why the movies were shitty.

For Ghostbusters: It wasn't that there were females in it. It's that the movie was made with the specific intention and purpose of being a feminist propaganda piece. There's a very important difference there.

And please include the movie title in the subject line.

I think a spoiler free "first impressions" discussion is helpful to see if a show is worth trying.

I like the overall structure you talked about, but we didn't even get the new game thread format on the Pelicans board, so I doubt they do something as complicated as you laid out.

I didn't get "feminist propaganda piece". I got a shite movie with female comedians instead of male comedians playing the title roles. It had a terrible script with two of the title roles filled by talentless actresses. But at no point did I feel that I was having feminism shoved down my throat.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it was a girl-power idea to cast it the way they did but the final product itself didn't come off to me as a vehicle for furthering the female agenda. As a matter of fact, the only remotely feminist joke I can remember from the movie was shooting the 100' tall ghost in the dick and I'm pretty sure that's the only time I laughed.

Movies were so much easier to enjoy pre-internet and before we let media outlets divide us by constantly bombarding us with social messages instead of news. Nowadays, your mind gets predisposed to expecting and hating certain things from a movie before you even step foot in a theater.

Every single male in the movie was a half retarded bumbling idiot and the climax of the movie was shooting a ghost in the dick...

We need better movies though.

I would say Hollywood SJW is what is killing the M/TV board.

The last Jedi had an entire story thread that was inconsequential because they needed a black and an Asian and for Chinese audiences to go see it.
Well Finn was black in TFA and there wasn't much he could do about it between movies. However, I don't disagree with fact the Finn/Rose storyline was bullshite and probablyy added to snag the Asian market. But that's not the same thing as an SJW message. That's just business.

Fwiw--if Star Wars was an Iraqi production I don't think I would go see the movie just because they added a white, American male.

You didn't get a message from an all female (other than Thor, in a previously female role) remake of a 1980s film?

Now, I didn't watch the movie (because life's too short), but this is an example of why movies catch shite. Stupid stunt casting is still stupid stunt casting. Even without watching it, I know it is one of the worst big budget movies of all time.

Rian Johnson said he wrote the script with Finn and Poe going to the Casino planet, but he hated the idea of two guys going on an adventure so he he decided to add an Asian woman so that it's two minorities going on an adventure and he gets to create a powerful and meaningful Asian female charter which is something that was previously missing in the Star Wars universe".

I didn't make that up. I didn't infer that. I didn't go looking for it. The Director made a point to say that in a public interview about the movie.

No you're just another poster who looks too hard for shite he hates.

it was so in your face, ham handed, hit you over the head and blunt that you're either being disingenuous or you're really just that naïve
Well I guess I'm just naive because I don't spend my free time considering how studios promote their movies. I have enough things in my life that actually matter. If you want to let directors and producers and actors tell you how to feel about a movie instead of just watching the movie then go right ahead.

and why do you think that movie you agree is just completely awful get mostly positive reviews including form outlets that as a blanket rule, give big budget summer blockbusters bad reviews?
Idk and Idc. You let these people influence your life too much, Fox.

i'm guessing king George didn't pick up on the Asian character talking about how evil capitalism is either
I did. I thought that was out of place compared to the previous movies. However, I didn't completely object to finally exploring something outside the Sith and Jedi as the only forces that provide conflict in the galaxy.

the last jedi is a fricking college know it all progressive on a megaphone and even still this guy is pretending he didn't hear it
So if the purle-haired chick was cast as a dude that didn't like Poe's fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants antics and if Rose was a dude-a white dude-would that change how you feel about the movie?
