I didn't want O as the coach and quite frankly I thought it was a joke of a hire. That's not his fault though. However, people saying this was a great year, explain that to me. We lost to MSU and Troy and immediately the O fans said that Les would have lost that game. I would say considering his history he would have beaten State. It's a joke if you think he would have lost to Troy. How someone can say O is great after that is beyond me.
The flip-side, O beat a good Auburn team and the team finished very strong. The offense actually had a pulse against Bama. Ultimately the team did way better than I thought they would under O, but overall not any better than I would have expected from Les.
I think next year will tell the tale with O, regardless of the overall record if O loses another dud he is probably not the guy. My gut feeling is that if he will get out of the way of X's and O's and just motivate we will be ok. I just can't fathom the whole "we're back" crew or the "oh no we suck again" gang. This was a very indifferent year.

I can’t see how anybody can’t get behind O right now with how you turn the team around at the beginning of the year and how turned around Both lines In one year when people thought we were screwed for at least a few years. Writings on the wall we’re coming

People are retarded. They've made up their mind regardless of results.

I don't understand why we have 62 threads a day for a year in this subject

This. So sick of the “ okay NOW do you support O? Ok how about NOW?”

I support him. Just not convinced he’ll have staying power—but he has plenty of time to prove he does and i’ll be happy to see him succeed.

That's exactly the point of the topic, what has he done to warrant all in or out? Yet it seems most fans have made up their mind.

Support the coach, no matter who the coach is. I’m tired of hearing bitching about the coach.

i'm in for O because he is our coach. I enjoyed this season as a whole, and am hoping for a good recruiting year and some guys coming back.

O knows what we need to succeed. he's working hard. is having success, but everyone knows we need a qb. I hope we have one on board already, and continue to recruit hard.

And you aren't?

Explain to us, O wise one, how playing the most weak LSU schedule in ten or more years, coming in third in the west, 17th in the final playoff poll, and suffering two of the worse defeats in recent LSU history show any results better than those that got the last staff fired?

Keep moving those goal post.

I wasn't a big fan of the hire but I supported him anyway. I wanted him hanged after that loss to the team I won't name (you know, the non conference team). But he redeemed himself. He replaced a departing OL coach with an upgrade. And if there ends up being something behind Canada leaving conspiracy theories, I'm betting he'll replace him with an upgrade too. I don't think I'm alone in still not being totally sold that O is the long term answer... but he seems to be motivated to get us headed in the right direction.

I support him thoroughly, but the jury's still out and next year will reveal a lot about his true mettle as a coach.

It's not as bad as it reads on this site. In most of these threads, and there are hundreds, reasonable people come in and post once that they think the jury is still out, they've seen some good, and they've seen some bad. That is most people. The problem is these threads turn into the extremists flaming each other back and forth. But those people are definitely the minority - just not in # of posts about this.

I think it is because people have seen what happens when we have had bad head coaches in the past and how long it took to get out of that pit of misery.

This season was a facade in terms of record as the poster above pointed out because of how bad the conference was - especially the SEC West.

We haven’t seen that in years quite frankly.

Orgeron is a known commodity when he was in fact a full time head coach.the difference in a guy that took his team through spring and fall tells a lot about him as a head coach. Well this season was a wash because of the schedule was so poor and the fact he had 2 very bad loses and one good win. The UF win was ugly also. Then losing to a depleted Bama team by 2 TDs didn’t help his case.
I’ll give him next year to redeem himself. A 8-10 win season next year and 2 Top 5-10 recruiting classes is worthy of keeping him the 3rd year.
Anything less than that we might as well cut bait.

That picture says it all. Troy got their time in the limelight. If not for them beating a high profile team like LSU no one would give even one frick about Troy football.

I want to see how we perform against ND. A good showing will go a long way toward establishing good will for O in the off season. Let's kick arse!

That said, you should be able to understand people wanting O to succeed.....because he is the coach at LSU.

You can say that again. Only two good teams in the West, and only ONE in the East! The SEC sucked bricks this year, and the fact the 4th best team in the conference lost to a team that was Division II as recently as 2000 puts everything into proper perspective.
