My first job out of college, I would Travel to the company’s different facilities- I got so tired of eating at restaurants. At the end of a month - I just wanted to eat a bowl of cereal and watch tv for breakfast

Before I started traveling for work I would always fly SWA.

Now after traveling a ton for work I cannot even fathom it.

Once you get elite status with Uncle United he will take care of you. You just gotta work for it.

That sounds terrible.

I traveled 25-30 weeks a year for fourteen years. I loved it.

Built a business over the last seven years where I get to do some pretty amazing things but am spending 120+ nights on the road. Need about ten more years to really finish out and realize the profits but have a young family now and don’t want to miss those years and it’s not a business I can sell. The travel is the only thing standing in my way but it’s necessary and I’m trying to figure if the Juice is worth the squeeze.

I'm sure one day once more housewives see your progress and how many inches you lost the juice will sell itself. Maybe add rodan and fields to your inventory so you can sell that too

I used to, now it is awful. I'd much rather be at home than on traveling.

When you travel alot at a minimum once a week you need to do your own thing

Traveling for work depends alot on where for me

High travel job I was going to big cities and it was cool. Got fat though

Big 4 job I was going to rural shite holes

It’s sucks these days.

I have traveled off/on for years, normally lone wolfing it out on the road. I have my routine that works for me.

Some destinations are clearly better than others, but what you have to go through just to get on/off a plane (while understandable) just makes it miserable - as do the boring arse, pontification filled business dinners listening to some blowhard who won’t shut the &$?@ up.

I miss my family tremendously while I am gone, but balance it as a necessary evil to support a lavish lifestyle for my wife and kids that I barely know these days. Lol.

over 20 years of traveling at least every other week, my area is N. Carolina to Texas, Mexico and the Caribbean
the good:
-getting out of NE Ohio during winter, this is the time of year I schedule my Caribbean trips
-free flights and hotels for vacations
-the "city" trips are not as bad as the "rural" trips
- made life long friends out of customers

the bad:
-airports
-full airplanes
-rental cars
-hotels
- chain restaurants during the rural trips
-entertaining boring customers (some dinners just never end)
- being away from the wife, kids, grandkids
-did I mention airports
-coming home from a long grinding week and knowing that the wife will need to be entertained after entertaining folks all week. The last thing I want to do when getting home is going out for drinks and dinner....but, happy wife happy life

I would not do it unless the monetary benefits didn't outweigh the suckiness of it

Never did like it and seldom do it now.
Never thought about it at the time, but I got a rude awakening wrt a really high cholesterol level after a company physical.
Eating on the road is not a great as one would think.

I've seen some really cool places travelling for the Navy Reserve, and have seen pretty much the entire state travelling for my civilian job. However, after doing it for over 20 years, it's gotten rather old.

All of this. When you travel for work, you get nearly zero personal time. So, you're missing time with your family and generally can't do what you want to do on you 'off time' before/after working the entire day away from home.
