Meh. I just don't share everyone's hate of Alleva.

Yeah, he has made a couple of bad hires. Every AD has. I do think the last football coach hiring was fricked up, but the jury is still out on whether O was a good hire. It is. It just is.

The guy has business savvy and makes money. Maybe you guys want some homer with giant balls who tries to impose his will on people. Those guys don't exist. When one pops up, he doesn't last long.

Come at me bro. Don't care. Had sex.

I haven’t been to a game in years, but I hear he’s made it very expensive

Also, he should’ve been unhirable after the duke lacrosse fiasco

Yeah I do believe Alleva would’ve better handled the Les firing a lot better if left alone.

Alleva is selfish, scandalous, and just financially stupid. Yeah, let's give the coach nobody else in the country wanted a $12 million buyout when he would have coached here for gumbo and a crawfish boil every once in a while

I defended him for a long time. But all along I knew that how and when he replaced Miles would define him. He bungled that whole thing worse than I could ever imagine (until Tennessee put him to shame). He's indefensible

He’s trash and a giant loser.
My two reasons for disliking him:

He gave the Duke lacrosse coach an ultimatum to either resign or be fired over false allegations.

He ended the LSU coaching search just bc option 1 negotiated elsewhere

Aleva is a spineless hack that would have acted just like John Currie if he was in that position. Both are pathetic excuses for leaders.

Nice try to save your job Joe. Don’t worry your fricking boss is getting run as well.

No, it’s not. It was an awful hire. It’s yet to be seen if it will work out, but on paper the hire was one of the worst hires in the last 20 years.

I supported Joe with the first round of Les drama cause it wasn’t his fault- it was FKA who should’ve been skinned for that debacle (as well as a few others).

But his handling of the coaching search, negotiating with Herman, then hiring of Eaux was a sequence of incompetence that cannot be overlooked or forgiven. He needs to go ASAP. And King with him.

I agree:This is how we believe the Fisher situation went down with LSU: Alleva wanted to hire him in 2015 but was blocked by Alexander, who didn’t want to beg the state legislature for funding while LSU paid Miles millions not to coach. In 2016, LSU made Tom Herman its top choice, but his top choice was Texas. LSU would likely have had to offer Fisher what he’s going to get at Texas A&M — $75 million for 10 years — but was unwilling to do it.

You can say LSU should have fired Miles in 2015, but it’s still no guarantee Fisher would have come. The situation there hadn’t soured for Jimbo to the point that it has now. And frankly, I don’t blame LSU for not wanting to cave to Jimmy Sexton’s (Fisher’s agent) ransom note. Texas A&M is desperate. LSU is not. Woodward took the risk LSU wasn’t willing to take, for better or worse."

Instead of negotiating when the time came he threw a temper tantrum and took his ball and went home.

CalTiger53 that was good. While none of us know for sure your analysis is likely spot on. We'll be ok with Coach O. We just have to keep our in state guys and get those Houston/Dallas area guys we are known to get. I like where we stand.

And in that short statement is the sum total of LSU fans new ambitions. Just to be “ok”.

Alleva failed to protect the student athlete--he cancelled the rest of the Duke lacrosse season, hanging the entire team out to dry based on false allegations.

Only reason I can determine why Alleva is the LSU AD is very powerful LSUTAF member/members wanted a puppet they can control so they hired Alleva.

Then introduce F-King into the equation, , the people doing the hiring for LSU is suffering from a profound case of the stupids.
