Possibly! I think BP will be mostly a standalone film though. I think you'll have a tie in very faintly but I think the first BP movie will be to understand what Wakanda is, considering it will be a major battlefield in IW.

if he has it then it'd essentially be getting two stones in once scene when he intercepts Thor's ship....so I doubt that's the way they go with it

probably a reason for that

We know a couple of things already.
From the teaser trailer trailer, Thanos attacks the collector. The Aether (Reality Stone) is there.
From the actual trailer. He clearly has the Space and Power Stones.
From the actual trailer, there is an attempt to take Visions (Mind Stone).
Dr. Strange still has his eye (as far as we know).
No idea on the Soul Stone.

I just cannot wait for this film. It’s been building for TEN years now. What Marvel has accomplished is nothing short of incredible.
They know how to put together a trailer. Loved the glimpses of various battles, the Avengers theme playing throughout is iconic, and most importantly that Thanos comes across as a total badass. Nothing really spoiled just wetting the appetite.
It’s well documented that the MCU has had a villain problem (though I’d argue they’ve done a nice job in phase 3) so Thanos has to deliver for this to work well. I want him to be this generation’s Darth Vader...a beacon of total destruction and near hopeless to defeat, killing some heroes, and just on another level. That looks promising from where I’m sitting.

I hope we end this movie on Cap vs Thanos like the comics or Iron Man sacrificing his life. One of those two dying will set a major tone for the next movie

There's going to be over $100M people that will see this film. 95% of those people have never read a comic book. These movies weren't made to follow comic book scripts to a T, nor were they made to appease comic book fans only. It's an international blockbuster movie with a lot of beloved characters that make them a lot of money on merchandise. They aren't going to just start killing main characters.
Have you read the Infinity Gauntlet?

Not looking good for poor Vision
The fact that is in the trailer tells me 100% he is going to live.
I wouldn't spend that much time characterizing him, KNOWING that the internet already half expects him to die, and then essentially show his death scene in the trailer.

Ewww. I hope he doesn't have too much trouble passing that thing.

what can he do without it?

Jude Law has already been cast as Mar Vell in Captain Marvel. I don't know if we're supposed to take anything from that as far as Vision's future.

no, and that's my point. I've never read a comic book in my life, but i do love all of the comic book movies. the vast majority of people that will watch this movie could care less about reading a comic book.
Pretty sure my 6 year old doesn't want to go watch Cap and Iron Man get killed. Hell he almost cried when he thought Cap was going to kill Iron Man in Civil War. He also wasn't stupid enough to believe that Superman was really dead either.
All i'm pointing out is that Chris Evans as Cap and RDJ and Iron Man, are very very popular characters. killing them for good, would make zero financial sense. ZERO. And these movies are about making money. "Hey lets manufacture some new Captain America action figures and t-shirts with his new different shade of blue he's wearing now, and lets get out the new suit Iron Man is wearing, oh wait we can't, b/c he's dead. No big deal, people will buy Dr Strange and Black Panther merchandise."
There may be deaths to smaller chaarcters, and maybe a larger character does die, but i'm sure they will be brought back to life at some point. The only way I could see any main character dying is if Chris Evans cannot, or has not, come to any terms for future movies at all that both sides can agree to, and they might kill him off, but i would bet he goes into suspended animation somehow, not dies for good. No main character dies for good. Optimus Prime has died in almost every movie.

These movies also need to have consequences, which should include a lot of deaths.
I love the MCU but it's about time for them to have some long lasting effects. Bringing Cap or Iron Man back from the dead just defeats the purpose. Neither will bite it in this one but I fully expect RDJ to come close to death but survive and for Cap to die in Avengers 4. It needs to happen.
They need the push

as long as its an entertaining movie, they don't need to just kill a character off because well its time to do it. Hell, I'd say killing off a character for the sake of doing it to establish stakes is more lazy than anything.

You said close to what I was going to say.
When people can come back from the dead anyway, how does death make a movie good? How does it add consequences?
Don’t get me wrong, if it helps the plot and makes sense, it can obviously be useful in the story. But kind of like with OM wanting Ultron back just to destroy things, a hero dying doesn’t mean anything either if he or she returns anyway.

Well, if Downy and Evans want to move on or even if they just get too old for the roles, Marvel will have to do something.
They can either take a hiatus from those characters, and then bring some other actors in - either as a total re-boot or into the existing universe and hope the audience goes along with the switch.
Or they can really kill them off and bring in other characters into those roles - Someone other character than Steve Rodgers takes the mantle of Captain America and another character than Tony Stark puts on the Iron Man suit. Doesn't seem like they would go this way permanently, but maybe they would in the short run.
Or they can "kill them off" but not really and bring them back later by some contrivance. Said contrivance could maybe even be used to explain why they look completely different than Evans and Downy.
If they are gonna send Cap away for awhile, I'd kinda like to see an homage to the original plot device explaining why he was gone since WWII. Maybe they can have him enclosed in a chunk of ice again but this time it's floating through interstellar space somewhere. They can always have somebody find his arse again when they're ready to bring him back.

If you haven't read the comic, then your point is, well, pointless.
