My boss presents riddles at our monthly luncheon and they are usually extremely lame and solved in 10 seconds but this one got me thinking:

What would happen if two snakes of the same type, size, and length decided they were going to eat the other starting at the other one’s tail?

Depends on their speed of eating...if same they’re at the same pace they’d stop half way. Right?

1) these would have to be king snakes.
2) They would both realize they were being eaten, regurgitate their own meal, and either fight or slither away from one another.

Tell your boss he is an idiot and doesn’t know shite about snakes.

They would stop halfway forming a circle... A circle of office unity. Then they would be run over by a car.

Your boss eats a-hole. Subtle innuendo in that riddle, but a strong message.

Throw out the word “Ouroboros” and google its meaning. Sure to impress. In the case of two snakes eating each other by their tails, it would suggest either that your boss doesn’t quite understand what an ouroboros is (1snake eating its own tail) - or that he is figuratively referring to some kind of “double infinity” or parallel universe existing in your firm’s midst. Perhaps an oblique reference to the ultimate no-win “fail” that is toxic office politics.

Obvious answer: at some point one or both would die, which kind of sounds like a stupid team building lesson.
