Who is in more trouble long-term - Saints or LSU?

Both have won championships and fielded elite teams in the last decade, but it certainly seems like both are trending downwards currently.
For LSU, there was the firing of Miles that led to a questionable (being generous here) hire at the head coaching position. The recruits and staff are still good to great, IMO, but that didn't prevent a 30-point beatdown/mercy kneeling in Starkville.
Either State is really, REALLY good, or LSU is in for a long season.
One could say it's a rebuilding year, but one of the main arguments in support of O was continuity, so who the hell knows?
For the Saints, it seems the shine has worn off our once efficient offense, and the defense is still all-world atrocious. Our Hall of Fame QB is closer to the end of his career than the middle of it, and there seems to be zero leadership in the front office.
NFL teams are easier to rebuild, in theory, but both LSU and the Saints are suffering from a lack of good decision making at the top of the totem pole. The same mind-boggling shite keeps trickling down, and it's landing on all of us now.
So who gets the worst of things in the next 5 years?
Also, I'm sorry that it's week 3 of football and I'm already posting this depressing shite. I hate everything.

I don't know a ton about the LSU situation, but the Saints.
Brees is on his way out with no viable alternative.
Sean Payton has lost it. He needs to be canned.
Abysmal defense
Questionable drafts year in and year out
In a very tough division with what appears to be career QBs (Winston, Ryan, Newton)

Saints.
LSU can fire O & Alleva and they'll still have great facilities and the ability to put a ton of money into the program. Alexander is a problem though.
If the Saints fire Payton, I have no faith in anyone in the organization to hire the next coach.

I would say the Saints for the next 5 years, just because Brees is likely close to retirement and it's so hard to hit on a QB in the NFL. Take away a good QB from that Saints team and they're one of the very worst in the NFL.
LSU is still loaded with talent and could be a quick turnaround if they right the Eaux wrong. The Saints could be a messy rebuild

Saints.
Brees is on the way out and they don't have a defense to support a mediocre-to-bad QB.

Saints and it's not close.

I don't wanna talk about it!!
But it's the Saints.

Yeah, they may actually have worse administrative issues than LSU - whose administrative issues are huge.

The saints are fricked.

Great question. These things take a loooooong time to turn around typically. I would say LSU is in worse shape due to free agency being able to shuffle a roster more quickly than recruiting incoming freshmen (if LSU has a roster issue which they will soon since recruiting will suffer).

I agree that it looks like it's the Saints
But I'm also worried that we don't pull the plug on this Alleva/O thing soon enough.
We've seen elite programs all over the country do this in the past. Once that wheel stops spinning, it takes a lot to get it going again.
But still, I agree. The Saints are in trouble.

LSU backed into Saban, and is regressing back to their mean. The Saints had one good year. I would say neither are in trouble, just getting back to business as usual.

we sit around and joke sometimes about how old Benson is and that he may not even know what day it is but what happens when he passes away?
will there be less pressure on Loomis and Payton than there is right now? Loomis should have been gone for awhile now. Drawing up clown contracts that have set the Saints back.
at least Payton has guided the Saints offense to be one of the top units each year he's been with the Saints. It's just that the defense has usually been bad and this years stop unit looks plain awful. No pass rush and a young/inexperienced group in the secondary.
who the frick is minding the store?

Saints. Much harder to get players and stay competitive. Think old school Raiders/Dolphins/49ers, and with the exception of Payton Manning, the Broncos.
LSU will always be competitive from the talent pipeline in the state of Louisiana and surrounding. They might not go 11-1 year in and year out, but I doubt they would ever go 6-6 or the like in the foreseeable future. One good recruiting class and a solid coaching staff can change the program around in a heartbeat.

Saints, with the one caveat being that it is much easier to turn around an NFL team in the shitter than it is a college program.
If LSU allows O to stink it up for 3 years, the program could be mired in a morass that could last a decade.
The Saints have MAJOR issues that stem from the owner. He is simply too old to do anything, and the powers that be are the ones running the asylum. They aren't going to fire themselves.
The Saints are in a really, really, really bad spot.

Spot on.

Saints. When Brees is gone, they will have to morph into a dominant defensive team with mediocre offense to have any success right away. That is only slightly easier than finding a franchise QB like Brees
