Sad but that required incredible bravery.
quote:
He said among his last words to her were, "I'll see you in Heaven."
"We stayed by her until she took her last breath," Nick DeKlyen said. "It's in God's hands now."
Doctors removed Carrie DeKlyen's feeding and breathing tubes on Thursday, a day after she gave birth to her daughter Life Lynn DeKlyen. The mother chose to forgo chemotherapy to treat her brain cancer, since it would have meant ending her pregnancy.
Sad but that required incredible bravery.

Life deklyen?
Would this be pronounced life decline?

I admire her choice but in choosing that she chose to leave all her kids motherless.
I know, go ahead and downvote.

God...
That poor husband. I hope he's got plenty of friends and family nearby.
The poor kid is going to have to spend the rest of her life explaining that she was named Life because, while in utero, her mother was dying of brain cancer. Nobody is going to enjoy telling or hearing that story.

I think this is the strongest power on earth is a mothers love for their child. I would not hesitate for a second to give my life for my child.

Compare this woman to someone like Lena Dunham who wishes she could abort a baby just for the frick of it.
I wish the cancer chose more wisely.

If there is a God, she passed GO and has collected eternal reward

I keep seeing this on FB and people are bitching the mom chose this. She had terminal brain cancer, she was dead regardless, she made a choice to give life rather than kill and still die herself.

What her choice was none of our business

Only a depraved asswipe would downvote this story.

Husband must feel awful. He knocked her up and his sperm gave her cancer.

What a terrible situation for her and her family. Treat her cancer and end the life of her unborn child.
She made the decision most would make I would think, but still very difficult on the entire family.

There is nothing brave about this. It was fricking stupid. If she had a kid, be around to be a mother. If my wife faces a decisIon like this with our two kids already alive, i would get the coat hanger myself.

Guess that depends on your POV. She could have saved her own life, then brought more babies into the world
