College Grads- How many of y'all got jobs in something you didn't get your degree in?

Curious to see how prevalent it is for companies to hire people with degrees outside of their field.
I have heard companies don't care as long as you have a degree in something and I've also heard they can be very specific to what you graduate in.

History Degree - Been with my company for 22 years as a Director of Product Development / Buyer. I wanted to be a teacher but decided not to.

It really depends on the company. There are definitely companies who will hire people with just about any degree, as long as you graduated with a good GPA, but there are other companies who are looking for specific degrees.

At least in the engineering world employers very much care about entry level applicant GPA.

There are definitely companies who hire new grads, regardless of their degree, as long as they have a good GPA. I know this specifically does occur.
If you have experience, I'm sure GPA doesn't matter, but if you're a new grad it can affect your ability to get hired on at certain companies.

I put my GPA on my resume when I was younger. It's irrelevant at 41 with 18-19 years of experience.
