My brother and I went slumming around on a ski trip in Colorado and Utah staying in cheap hotels and skiing all day. That was the plan anyway. I ate some bad pizza the first night and was sick the whole trip. I would drink a sip of 7-up and 20 minutes later it was coming out the other end. I didn't eat a solid piece of food for 3 days. When I walked in to work the next week my co-workers said wtf? I had lost over 10 lbs and maybe got a 1/2 day skiing in.

A group of us drove out to six flags once and it was closed. That sucked.

I went on a 1200 mile Road trip in the back seat of a 98 mustang, that wasn't fun either.

Took a beach trip from Hell with the wife and kids to Pensacola while the wife was pregnant with #3.

The highlight has to be someone putting my iPad in the back of the SUV and then me smashing it by accident when closing the hatchback. Needless to say I was in a foul mood for the rest of the drive home.

Went to my cousin's wedding in downtown Memphis. We got there pretty early and was able to park on the street across from the church. After my dad parks and we go inside, we hear a loud boom. Walk out to find someone had hit my parents Tahoe and the car parked behind us. Of course it was a hit and run, luckily there was a young kid who was outside church when it happened and he was able to give the police a really good description of the car. It ruined our whole evening, my dad missed the whole wedding because he was outside dealing with the police. I really felt bad for the other car that had worse damage than my parents, it was a brand new car and the people couldn't even drive it back home. As if that was bad enough, we got lost driving back to our hotel after the wedding and ended up in a pretty bad area of Memphis.

I took a family vacation to Hot Springs a few years ago and it was one of my favorite vacations ever. I had never been before and enjoyed the tourist area (although may only occupy a day or two).

The main reason I liked it so much is that my parents brought their boat and my kids were old enough to be pulled from the back on a raft and also appreciate the beauty of the lakes.

We had rented a house in Hot Springs Village (on a golf course) and there were some activities nearby for kids that also made it a fun trip.

Disney has to be up there for me.

But I remember as a kid my dad driving my 2 brothers and me to Destin around the 4th of July to fish 1 day on 1 of the snapper party boats in my grandparent's station wagon. Being the old country guy he is, he just assumed we'd get there and get a hotel. This was circa 1985, so booking hotels ahead of time was out of the question. He didn't realize all the hotels would be booked up. We had to sleep in the station wagon in a parking lot by the beach in July! fricking miserable.

Then turned around and drove back to Shreveport the next day.

Panama City Beach 7 or 8 years ago. Went with a group of about 40 and stayed at the Sandpiper Beacon. The dumpiest hotel I have ever stayed in. The beach and partying was great but that place was a total dump.

Holy crap that brings back memories. Spent two spring breaks in college there around 2002-2003. Shitty hotel, but fond memories of chicks taking their tops off in the tiki bar and one of my fraternity brothers befriending a bar tender and us only paying about half our drinks. Was like shooting fish in a barrel too...the hardest part was scheduling times in our rooms to bang sloots between my group of six or seven guys

June 2011: went to Conroe, Texas to visit my girlfriend. She lived in a small apartment but was moving. I helped her and her roommate move into an upstairs apartment on the other side of town. I paid for meals for all three of us. My girlfriend was more interested in her female roommate than me. We did not have private time together and she did not seem to want to be intimate. We had boxes everywhere on the floor. No television or cable to watch. I ended up sleeping on the floor for two nights. Third day, I decided to drive back to Gonzales. It stormed the whole trip back. Girlfriend broke up with me two days later. I got used like a wash rag . Long distance relationships suck.

Imagine Branson right after Conway Twitty died. Whole town was just sad. I think Drazen Petrovic died on the Autobahn also. That was llllllaaaame.

8th grade school trip to Disney World. I got food poisoning from a bad hamburger on the bus ride down there and spent the next 10 hours puking in a trashbag.

ETA: I did get a row to myself though, so it wasn't all bad.

Hot Springs and Branson are some of may happiest memories as a child. Obviously it's not the same once you grow up, but as a kid, I loved those vacations.

Yeah, I would never choose to vacation in Branson now, but I loved it as a kid. I was too young for the 10 hour drive to be as miserable as it would be now. And being so young, I didn't care that the 4 of us packed into a Days Inn or a Super 8.

Worst vacation as an adult was spending $1500 for 3.5 measly days in Gulf Shores where we somehow got stuck eating really terrible food and not really doing much while there. Love the people we went with, but you really realize how different people are from each other when you vacation with them.

Then you just don't know how to do WDW. I've been there over 30 times and although it isn't the best vacation spot, it certainly isn't the worst.

Carnival cruise with my in laws and some of her other family. Not only was I stuck on a floating walmart, but my wife immediately got in a fight with me before boarding the ship. That fight lasted for half the cruise. Which means she could ignore me and hang out with her family on the ship. That wasn't too bad cause I met new people and drank a lot. As soon as she quit fighting with me, I got stung extremely bad down my whole right arm by a freakin jellyfish. That basically made the rest of the trip unbearable.

I no longer go on vacations with family so I don't have to deal with hers.

Gatlinburg last year. 2 weeks before it burned. Was hoping for cool temps, got temps almost in the 90's and they were going through drought conditions. I'm not into the tourist trap scene. If you don't ride go carts or looking to buy Indian souvenirs, keep on trucking.
