We went to Silver Dollar City, some old musical acts had shows there, it pretty much sucks.

I concur and I'll add that were a ton of line cutting foreign groups that pissed me straight the frick off, waiting in line an hour for a 3 minute okay ride was nice though.

I'll add it's also mostly redneck trash. I shouldn't run down working class families but this is absurdity at some of the stuff I seen.

Also people are not morally good. They lolly gag, sit in the middle of the road, care nothing for others personal space and generally don't have common manners.

That's my experience with the melting pot of Disney World.

My mother was not born to navigate.

We used to drive up to see my dad's family in South Jersey. I-81 goes to central Pennsylvania while I-66 goes to DC. They meet in northern Virginia. My dad and I fell asleep while my mother took over and proceeded to miss the exit for 66. My dad woke up and we were in Harrisburg, PA. He gave me a map and said "while I'm asleep, you are to be up with your mother."

I was 9.

I have to say. Now that I'm older- Walt Disney World is hard to beat as far as bad ideas. It's hot. Crowded. Everything is expensive. My niece and nephew are enjoying it though so that's awesome. I suppose I'm just over the whole sweating your arse off and walk around for 8 hours.

What are you paying for? Your booze?
Tag along on Daddy's Dime vacation and you're bitching?

Been on at least 100 vacations and the only bad one. Crammed four families into one condo and it was a pain in the arse all week and then a big argument broke out with brother in law and parents on the last day.

The men I've met here that are really into Disney stuff give me a creepy vibe for the most part.

This. I know an otherwise cool guy who's is a pilot and him and his family go to Disney like 3-4 times a year. They wear matching shirts with their names on them every day etc . It's fricking weird imo. They're turning their 2 sons into Disney freaks as well.

Disney World is all about a plan and it drives me nuts. I stayed in the first half of the day. I've been nothing but harassed by the other half of my family for not going out to the parks. This is driving me nuts. I'm 32. I have no kids. This was a mistake. I'm hating my life at the moment.

Go to City Walk clubs and Tinder other vacation goers.

This place is so overrated.

The lakes are nice though. I'd go just to boat and fish for a few days. Just don't bother with the strip.

Yes, but Gatlinburg is better. There is much more to do in the Gatlinburg area.

You are right about this.. And people who you normally have no problem being around, after the trip, all of a sudden you feel like you need to be away from them for awhile.

I've been on a fair number of group trips. Usually it's renting out a large beach house, so it's not really structured. Everyone wakes up when they want, goes to the beach when they want. Each family took a turn cooking for a night.

We also did a group trip to Vegas one time. We set aside 1 night as a group night. Made a huge deal about the plans, and they were great. The rest of the trip was open for each couple to decide what they want to do. Sometimes it's hard for my wife and I to agree what show we want to see. Multiply that by 10 couples with the variety that Vegas has to offer, and there's no way to make everyone happy planning every hour together.

Parents treated us to a trip to Kentucky and Tn - I plugged up 3 toilets in 5 different hotels. My dad asked me to start wasting more fiber.

We did this too. On their night, they bought powdered box potatoes and didn't have milk so prepared them with coffee creamer.

I could probably vacation with others again now that I know what to avoid. It was just a big shock to me. Lesson definitely learned on accommodations and, the big one, no driving anywhere with anyone. Always will have my own transportation.

I still love the couple we went with - they're good friends. You just learn that not everyone has the same eating/driving/vacationing habits.

When I was 10 we took a vacation to Omaha. This has never been sufficiently explained. Zoo was pretty decent.

Having grown up around here, it still blows my mind that people vacation in Branson

Older rural people love Branson.

I could see going to Big Cedar Lodge and golfing or boating/fishing on Table Rock Lake. Johnny Morris has poured a ton of money into the resort and golf courses.

Otherwise, going for the has-been country music shows and putt-putt would be my idea of hell on earth.
