Senior trip...
- they booked a camp ground to save money
- they brought tents
- I ended up getting left at a party
- people fought
- not enough alcohol
- lost my shoes on the beach
- lost my keys
- lost my sunglasses
- came home early

I didn't go on my senior trip. They went to Cancun. It seemed like a terrible idea then. Turned out it was worse. They all got sick with some stomach bug and three dudes I knew got the clap, which I guess could happen anywhere.

Mount Nebo Arkansas. The deer eating in the yard was cool the first day but not being able to shoot them got old quick. Besides that, nothing to see there.

License plate game is fun. My dad was a big proponent of the roadkill game on road trips.

Essentially you get certain points for different animals.

San Antonio. Everyone in the family got sick off of some chicken, stayed sick for 4 days, went home... yay !

You vacationed in San Antonio? Why?

I would never waste my money on a vacation that wasn't to somewhere with real outdoor activities I.e. The mountains or the beach. Little weekend trips and stuff, sure, but a 5 day vacation? Wtf?

Group golf trip 2 years ago to the Hollywood Casino in Bay St.Louis. (we were going play the Oaks for a couple days).

about 1 hour into our trip, where we have about 30 guys on the casino floor, they cut us all off and started cutting people off from gambling. Fought with the workers, management, etc.
Sad part in all of this is we weren't even rowdy (yet). They were just not used to a group of that many people having fun i suppose.

Never going back there.

Went to Biloxi this year and it was a blast, always is.

We played the ABC game where you looked for alphabet letters in order on signs. My ADD arse usually got bored and gave up around 'g'. I hated that game.

Loving this thread. It's taking me down memory lane.

My Dad did not go on vacations at all when I was a kid. Various aunts and uncles took pity and let me tag along on their family vacations. I would go on 4 or 5 each summer. Most by car. It would get to the point where I was looking forward to school starting because I was worn arse out. Lots of shite went down; but I loved every minute of the craziness. Wouldn't trade those times, good or bad, for anything.

Will share this one particular trip to the Grand Canyon. I think I was 9 or ten. This is 1979, maybe. My dad's sister and her "yankee" husband - my 2 boy cousins and me. We're traveling in my Dad's old suburban - light blue, wood trim, white walled tires. Plain as frick on the inside - the kind of vinyl seats you couldn't sit on right away if you were wearing shorts because it would burn the back of your legs. Day one, my uncle runs over a dog and won't stop; all kids and my aunt freak out. Huge fight ensues between the grown-ups, kids start crying. That night at the first hotel stop my uncle breaks his glasses. so we spend the whole next day, with my aunt driving and my uncle screaming at her, trying to find somewhere to fix his glasses. Glasses were never properly fixed.
Second night we realize that one of my cousins left his suitcase in the hotel in Texas so he has to wear his brother's clothes. They start fighting. They fought the whole trip over those clothes (I still give them so much shite about that)
Get to the Grand Canyon after what seemed like a 2 week trip of non-stop stopping and my Uncle opens the car door and hits me in face; busts my nose, blood everywhere. More crying. Spend day at ER. Cousins spend the rest of the trip calling me Marcia. Every Grand Canyon photo has me and my f'ed up nose.

Good times!!

Oh my aunt was constantly yelling at me "don't you dare tell anyone about this". Heard that about a 1000 times.

ETA one of my favorite photos ever is of the 5 of us at the Grand Canyon: me and my bandaged nose, uncle wirh his wonky glasses, one cousin in a t shirt I swear was mine, the other cousin looking like he wanted to push someone into the Canyon, and most curiously was my aunt with this beatific smile. Not sure it she found some xanax or managed to screw one of those donkey guides.
Pic is framed in my living room. My kids, sadly, just don't get it.

Trip to Wally World two years ago tomorrow. Wife had a bad case of pms the day we left. Got in a wreck in beautiful Mobile Alabama. Try to rent a vehicle big enough for six people the Friday on Memorial Day weekend. Finally found one after two hours on the phone. Had to leave my vehicle in Mobile at a body shop. Of course the woman didn't have insurance and it was her fault. To top it all off, she sued me. I had to go back to Mobile for the trial. She didn't get a dime. I had to waste another day of vacation to go back to Mobile. Democrats. I hate em when they do stupid shite like that.

Vegas golf trip in March with 50 guys. Played 4 beautiful courses with the best weather. Won a bunch of money on the course and then killed it on the craps table. Enjoyed some great establishments and drank my arse off. Also, didn't have the better half around to critique my actions.

Wait, it wasn't that bad after all.
