Most overhyped player in lsu history.

He is always listed in the best lsu rbs.he had a great 4 game stretch against auburn and 3 scrubs.

Offer me 3 yrs of 1 rb in his prime, and I take him over LF any day ALL day..

Off the field, no thanks

LF is 20 lbs bigger and is faster.

Thats the dumbest post ever.

You'd take a rb with 600 career yards over the greatest rb in lsu history?

Collins couldn't hold Kevin Faulks jock strap. He's in the patriots hall of fame. Think about that

Based on what I've seen, I'd take Guice over ANY of them. He has the most versatility of any LSU back I've ever seen. More power than Faulk, but he still has the shiftiness and the home run capability. I LOVE LF and Faulk, as well (he showed up my Junior year at LSU, so I have VERY fond memories of him), but I think we will look back on Guice as the best back in LSU history after next season. If he stays healthy, Canada is going to absolutely wreck defenses with him.

Dude Collins was a great back i don't give a damn what you say if he were at LSU for 4 years back then and stayed healthy he would likely have the rushing record. He was the hardest runner I've EVER seen ever period. You couldn't tackle that guy in the backfield nor did he lose yards ever whether it be HS, College, or NFL. If Cecil was a smart back he would of been one of the greatest. Big or not it's even more impressive to me that he could do what he did throughout his career at 5'10 215 pounds. You ask anyone who tried tackling this guy if he was overhyped lol. I bet that answer is a resounding NO, and if they said yes they are bitter or just want to disagree. Better than Guice, LF, Hill, Faulk probably not but he's still one of the better backs I've ever seen run the football period.

look at Faulk's total yards. He was not a great NFL back. Name me great patriots backs? Martin? Patriots were trash outside of a couple good ones in the early 80's. Patriots HoF is nothing compared to NFL. Faulk had a great career as a third down back.

LF can do everything in the passing game that guice can do.

LF is lsu best rb, imo.

He is bigger and faster than Guice and has no flaws in his game.

But guice is great too.

Think about this, lf had the 2nd best rushing season in sec history (162.7 ypg) with the 103rd ranked passing attack.

I will never forget one broadcaster's comment when Faulk was being hyped for the Heisman. He said Kevin is a great running back -- one of the best in the nation, but he's not the best running back on his own team.

Right, great to have a felon and pervert being hugged by our coach.

Let's hate on Jefferson, but love on Collins. The clowns are out in force.

I won't say this is a flaw, but his running style is clearly straight-line. He requires a hole to be effective, as illustrated the last two years vs Bama. He can't start and stop with speed the way that Guice can. This allows him to be better in traffic.

Another advantage that Guice has is elite vision. LF is no Trent Richardson, but let's say his vision isn't a strength. I just think these two traits give Guice more opportunities to make big plays. He doesn't have to have that clear lane to make it happen.

Also, I'm not taking anything away from LF. He's amazing. As far as I'm concerned, he and Guice are 1a and 1b, with Faulk just behind them. I just think Guice's skill set works better in college football.

You clearly didnt watch him in the nfl.

He was 209lbs and ran a 4.51.
He ran for 3.2 ypc in the nfl.

Then you havent seen many good rbs.
Cecil was a good back but in no way was he some transcendent talent. He had average combine results.

He was a felon with 4 great games against 3 scrubs and auburn. To put him anyhere near the goat lsu rb is laighable.

Faulk was not a great nfl back? Are you serious? He had over 12,000 all purpose yards.

What? His lateral movement is one of his strengths. My god. Have you even read just 1 on his scouting reports?

Ha ha. No rb in the history of football can do it on their own.

There are no nfl scouts that have Guice rated higher than lf.

His SPEED is straight line. It isn't that he can't move. He moves incredibly well for a back his size. He just can't start and stop as quickly as Guice. Few can. That is what makes Guice special. He can make shifts and hit full speed almost immediately and get separation. I've seen plenty of small backs do that. I've never seen a guy that size do it.

As for the NFL, LF is probably the better of the two. I'm talking college football here. With a less than perfect line vs Bama's D, I want to see Guice get more carries.

Hurl childish insults all you want. I still take our CURRENT record holder for yards in a game.

While I fear death for a variety of reasons, it will hopefully rid me of the idiocy of LSU fans waxing poetic over Cecil Collins so therefore it can't be all bad
