The Auburn game is still one of the best running back performances I have ever seen.

It was until last season.

No he couldnt. Faulk,Alexander, hill,LF, and Guice are all better than Cecil collins.

His auburn game is barely top 10 (10th)
In rushing yards for a single game.

Yep. He did his time and paid his debt to society.

I am glad LSU and Coach O can still embrace him and one of the greats.

I'd kind of prefer that he weren't around the program.

This guy was a habitual sex offender. I recognize he did his time and wish him the best. But, I don't want him around.

Cecil collins is far smaller and slower than LF and Guice.

I watched every single one of his carries in the cfb and the nfl.
He had a great 4 game stretch against auburn and 3 scrubs.

His nfl stint was 3.2 ypc.

He was a 209 lbs guy that ran a 4.51.

an outsider or someone who never saw him play would easily draw this conclusion but when you saw him run there was zero doubt in your mind that it was greatness. Imagine Fournette running those first 4 games last year, snapping his knee, and ending his career. Thats the only similar comparison

I dont care if you trust my opinion.

Im stating facts.

Cecil collins had a good 4 game stretch, nothing more.

His great auburn game is 10th in lsu single game rushing record.

Lf and Guice are far bigger and faster.

Cecil collins is the most overhyped lsu football player ever.

The last statement is an opinion.

Again, i watched every single carry of collegiate and nfl career.

He was a good rb but in way is he close to or couldve been the best lsu rb ever.

He could play but was legitimately retarded, as in brain issues!

He never played for lsu.

Look Cecil collins was a beast but i need more than a 4 game stretch against 3 scrubs to paint a guy as a couldve been the best ever

Are we talking about production or performance? Word I was responding to was "performance" - sometimes they go together (e.g. Faulk's AP clinic against Houston).

LF7 rushed 19 times for 228, and 3 TDs. Diesel went 27-232-2.

Faulk's 346 all purpose against Houston remains the most impressive "all purpose" performance by an LSU player (probably by an SEC player - would likely be GOAT NCAA performance if it was against a better opponent than Houston in those days).

I get it now - I think that both games (fairly comparable - LF7 had a better average and another TD - Collins had more runs stuffed, and we ran the ball almost 50 times total in that game) - what folks are remembering is the domination of the defense by the running back. Just because they didn't get into the 300s doesn't mean that both players (in this case, coincidentally against Auburn) didn't just own the defense in that game. Now for the record, the 1997 Auburn game - Faulk was hurt and Mealy got 129 yards on 12 carries - a better average than Collins.

(And blast from the past, Craig was the Auburn QB for that game. )
