No he couldnt. Faulk,Alexander, hill,LF, and Guice are all better than Cecil collins.
No - a healthy Cecil Collins was better than all of them and that is taking nothing away from the players listed.

One thing that you will never see is this. Faulk was one of the best ever in the NFL at finding a way to get a first down. He could get a first down when everybody knew he was getting it on 3rd down. It is one of the reasons he is one of the favorite Patriots players of all time by Patriots fans.

. Hopefully, that is true. Because if it is, it's a clear sign he has accepted responsibility for his own actions and moved forward.

Most overhyped player in lsu history.

No doubt the most talked about running back that played against 4 teams and 3 of them had very poor defenses

Diesel Collins hanging with Coach Eaux today by wallowinit
I met Cecil Collins at the second or third recruiting Bash and it was held at Drusilla Seafood. At the time they were hosted by Lee Brecheen of the Louisiana sports high school football magazine. This might have been the first one that wasn't held at Hooters.

I wonder how many of you remember those recruiting bashes and attended them?

They weren't recruiting bashes. They were LA HS Magazine award presentations. Because of the venues, its close proximity to signing day, and the number of big recruits, LSU fans treated it like a public venue to openly recruit players on the fence. The ones at Hooters got pretty crazy. That event moved to the Casino and became a purchased ticket event. I think it lost its steam after that and I never heard much about it later on.
A few players were making public commitments at those events. I can't think of the player who committed to mich and then changed his mind later in the evening at hooters. There was a Michigan coach at the event.

Cecil "Diesel" Collins was definitely one of the most talented RB's to ever wear the purple and gold. It's just a shame he threw it all away. Such a waste of talent. I remember a run he made when he was with the Dolphins, a defensive player had the angle on him as Collins ran outside to the corner, and Collins gave him a move that juked him out of his cleats, then ran untouched into the endzone.

Dude Collins was a great back i don't give a damn what you say if he were at LSU for 4 years back then and stayed healthy he would likely have the rushing record. He was the hardest runner I've EVER seen ever period. You couldn't tackle that guy in the backfield nor did he lose yards ever whether it be HS, College, or NFL. If Cecil was a smart back he would of been one of the greatest. Big or not it's even more impressive to me that he could do what he did throughout his career at 5'10 215 pounds. You ask anyone who tried tackling this guy if he was overhyped lol. I bet that answer is a resounding NO, and if they said yes they are bitter or just want to disagree. Better than Guice, LF, Hill, Faulk probably not but he's still one of the better backs I've ever seen run the football period.

cant argue this.. If he would have stayed on track i think hes neck and neck with fournette as one the more talented.. That guy was incredible, Jeremy Hill actually reminded me of him.. except Collins was just a tad smaller and more shifty but same explosion.. I think thats where Fournette gets him.. Fournette is just freak of an athlete..
