Who's knocking on Bobby Williams and Burton Burns' doors?
That's right, NOBODY.
Can you read? The guy I was responding to said that NO coach stayed long term with Saban...
And as for Burton Burns, can you name another active position coach that's developed 2 Heisman winners?

or is there something more?
I heard a rumor today that Kiffin knew this would be his last year and encouraged BB to go ahead and transfer out early so wherever he landed after this season BB could join him. TIFWIW.

There is no problem. Kiffin wants to be a head coach again.
If he does take a hc gig, I still wouldn't trust him to be focused for the playoffs. I'm not sweating it.

After reading through this, though, it makes me think....if the somewhat douchey Kiffin does come to BR., and if there is some bad blood, he will certainly be motivated to defeat Saban. It would add to the history of the rivalry for sure.

n a personal level, Saban obviously loathes Kiffin. However, Saban is a great coach, because unlike some incompetent AD's and previous LSU head coaches I know, he does not let emotion get in the way of his job. He knew he had to modernize and streamline his offense and Kiffin was the man to do it. Kiffin may not have liked the working conditions, but that is his privilege. To me the over-arching point of this whole situation is Saban hiring Kiffin in the first place. Saban will do what it takes to win championships, without letting personal feelings and likes interfere. That's an attitude I wish LSU would take.
Well at least the LSU way is human. You know humans get emotional. Unfortunately the other way, the robotic, inhuan way has been effective. Just kill, lie, cheat sell your first born to win some football games. I love when they say they demand excellence. When the deck is stacked and the NCAA president is the HC's lover from a previous life it is so easy to think that:)

seeing all those facts about Kiffin's past jobs in rapid succession really makes me dread having him in Baton Rough.
If I'm not mistaken, when he was the head coach at USC, he also got caught having players swap jerseys during a game against Colorado and had equipment managers deflate footballs during the first half of a game against Oregon, with both of these instances being against NCAA rules.
I'm not happy at all with the thought of Kiffin coaching at LSU.

Saban realized he would rather deal with a drunk than an insufferable douchebag.

This is correct.
Agreed. That's all there is to it really. Kiffin wants to be a head coach, and to do so he has to get out from under Saban's shadow; he has to prove that he is mature enough to handle a HC position without someone like Saban keeping him from making the same mistakes he made at Oak, UT, and USC.

That cost them the Ohio State game a few years ago
Blake Sims throwing 3 picks and a few defensive starters getting injured cost us the game.

Those rumors are why I think Kiffin will NOT be at LSU; if he gets passed for all of those head coaching jobs, I think he bolts for the NFL - where they don't care if you screw co-eds and talk shite.

i think he's coming, bro
look, if you're going to be a shite show, you might as well be the best shite show you can be.

It's why no coaches stay with him long term. They go there, stay for a few years and gtfo.

Lane wanted to keep it in the family. Nick didn't like it in his family
