seeing all those facts about Kiffin's past jobs in rapid succession really makes me dread having him in Baton Rouge.
Well, the good news is that we'll have the ethical pillars of Bebe and Ponamsky keeping Kiffin between the lines.

Didn't Saban get him a big raise before the season started?

They are very contrasting personalities and both have an alpha attitude. It's an ego war where Kiffin probably despises getting yelled at like he's a child.

It's why no coaches stay with him long term.

BS. Burton Burns and Scott Cochran have been with Saban for 10 years. Kirby Smart was with Bama at Saban for 9 years before taking the UGA HC job; also was with Saban for a year each at LSU and Miami. Bobby Williams was with him at Bama for 9 years and also coached under him at Michigan State. Bo Davis, Kevin Steele, Lance Thompson, and Jeremy Pruitt apparently hated him so much that they left and then came back for some more. Saban may indeed be hard to work for but it sure hasn't kept subordinates from staying with him long-term nor has it kept those who left from coming back...

Kiffin is a douche bag and Saban is a control freak

Why is it a mystery that someone doesn't like Lane Kiffin?

There is no contention between them at all. Nick is a little jealous of Lane's ability to dial up plays as nick knows that he's only good in college bc he can spend more money to recruit than anyone else. Play calling isn't nicks greatest skill and he knows it. Lane , on the other hand, has shown that he can outcoach nick head to head. I think that may be the only tension there, but I don't think it's eating at nick as bad since Lane helped him hide his poor quarterback evaluations recently

I know there's been trouble in paradise for a while, but curious what's the primary cause of the beef between them?

Does Kiffen simply not piss excellence at the level of Saban's standard, or is there something more?

I'm not sure what trouble in paradise you mean. Is there a link? Lane wants to be a head coach. Saban wants him to play Bama football but I'm not sure where the trouble has been. If you could provide a link with quotes, etc, and not what LSU fans tell themselves. Haven't heard of any issues up here but if you know something we don't, please share.

Lmao. Right?!? All i had to read was

To know i was dealing with a real college football guru here.

I think there's a lot less trouble there than the media and non-Bama fans like to believe.

Haven't you heard? Saban got upset on the sideline once. Outside of Bama, colleagues never have disagreements.

I don't doubt that working with Saban is a real grind, and a lot of people burn out. Same was said for Harbaugh. They just wear on people.

But I think mostly Kiffin has eyes on a HC job.

Kiffin has too big of an ego to want to get yelled at every time he fricks up a play call

I do view Kiffin as someone who can outsmart himself and get away from what's working (i.e. choosing the pass or run/pass laterally when they've been running the ball at will up the middle all game)

That cost them the Ohio State game a few years ago
