neither have I. and that's a fact. facts, however, are not relevant in today's society. we live in one giant reality show. the more a half truth of down right lie fits one's narrative the more it is believed (and passed on as fact).

saban and kiffin are probably contrasting personalities but I can't even state that as 100% truth. in fact, the more shite I read on here that they are having problems the LESS I believe it.

I do view Kiffin as someone who can outsmart himself and get away from what's working (i.e. choosing the pass or run/pass laterally when they've been running the ball at will up the middle all game)

That cost them the Ohio State game a few years ago

Don't know if you can blame Kiffin on that one Bama did score 35 points.

I think there's a lot less trouble there than the media and non-Bama fans like to believe.

I tend to agree with this.

Saban talks a lot about avoiding complacency while Kiffin typically projects a DGAF demeanor. I think their problem is more a clash of personalities than something deeply personal.

Kiffen would have been summarily fired. But it could be something along those lines.

They went up 21-6 with Henry and Yeldon hammering the OSU defense and stopped running the ball

Well Kiffen is a smart arse and Saban is an a-hole. Not a good mix.

I know there's been trouble in paradise for a while, but curious what's the primary cause of the beef between them?

Does Kiffen simply not piss excellence at the level of Saban's standard, or is there something more?

Kiffin is 6'4".... that drives Nick Saban crazy. Nick tries but he can't work enough hours to grow any taller than 5'7".

Well now, that's just not the same thing at all. I certainly don't think that he would be happy being the Alabama OC under Nick Saban for the rest of his career.

I think he took the job with intent to get HC job but would take LSU oc job to get away from Saban

No doubt. I think that's his goal.

Maybe. I certainly don't picture them grabbing a drink together after work.

I'm not sure what trouble in paradise you mean. Is there a link? Lane wants to be a head coach. Saban wants him to play Bama football but I'm not sure where the trouble has been. If you could provide a link with quotes, etc, and not what LSU fans tell themselves. Haven't heard of any issues up here but if you know something we don't, please share.

Well to be honest, the people I have heard this from are you people, not LSU fans. The I heard was from Bama fans at the LSU game who said Nick and Kiffen can't stand each other. Then after the game, at a Baton Rouge restaurant, more Bama fans were complaining about Kiffen, the play calling, and stated that Saban was already on the verge of firing him--wishing he would do it already. Granted, 6 or 7 Bama fans are not representative of the whole lot, it does skew perception when you hear nothing but complaints from the Bama fans you meet on the street, especially after a win.

Then, there's stuff like this on your message boards: LINK

Not to mention the public beratement that was replayed on Sportscenter for over a week.

So if you aren't sure about what trouble in paradise I mean, maybe you're as delusional as the seven or so other Bama fans I met in Baton Rogue? The ones who also told me they were long time season ticket holders?

Who's knocking on Bobby Williams and Burton Burns' doors?
That's right, NOBODY.

My sauces say Nick did not renew Lane's contract because he disapproves of Lane's "lifestyle choices."

I have no idea what that means, but I assume that means Lane's banging coeds.

Is news about Kiffin being let go not leaking out within a few days of the auburn game?

It's an ego war where Kiffin probably despises getting yelled at like he's a child.

That actually is one thing I read. He is tired of Saban yelling at him.

Kiffin is a fragile soul.

honestly, if we inserted a generic name of an OC whose team made it to back to back champs, he would be getting plenty of HC offers.

Clearly he still has baggage behind the scenes.

If you believe Nicky, he only found out about LK being interested in other jobs this week. So, taking it for granted that LK is not leaving on his own with no job, his leaving has to on Nicky pushing him out the door. And after only a matter of days with this "issue" being out in the open between the two, there had to be other factors involved.
