A300 Outlander is GOAT
Love my A300 and it just so happened to be my first shotgun and unlike Motorboat's A400 it shot low brass target rounds right out the box.

I own most of those mentioned. I shoot the SX3. Best duck gun made. If it had Benelli on the receiver and not Winchester, it would be legendary. It's a duck hunter's duck gun.

I got the new one a few years ago with the 30" barrel and its an absolute bird killer
Why such a long barrel? Don't see that much anymore.

I have been shooting a pair of browning gold hunters since the late 90's and haven't had a reason to upgrade Have one 3" with 26" barrel then got the 3-1/2" with 28" barrel when that chamber came out. Both have been flawless.

He just keeps coming back hunting with the same problem? He should look into getting that fixed.
Yes, he does. Yes, he should.

I shoot an SBE2 and love it. Will buy another when/if this one falls apart.

I duck hunt a helluva lot.
The last 4 seasons I have been using the Beretta A400. When the gun is working properly, it is the best duck hunting shotgun in the world. Unfortunately, there have been multiple problems with the gun.
I purchased a SBEII last fall and trying to work it into my everyday duck gun. Having shot Beretta for so long, it is taking time to migrate to the SBEII. Many hunters are steering clear of the A400.
I would recommend a Beretta 390 off of gun broker. Those are still the best duck hunting shotguns ever made.
A400 problems - end cap exploding off 2 times, not cycling 3.5 loads quickly, jamming on 3.5 loads, not cycling dove loads. Beretta customer service has been about the worst experience I can imagine.
The guy at the gun shop told me to stay clear of the A400 - Shame on me for not listening. I do hear the new models are much better.

I have a BPS, Beretta Outlander, a Super Black Eagle, and had both the Extreme and SX3. All were and are good. I still hunt with my Jap Browning Mag 12. It is simply a duck killing machine. It will last for generations.

Been shooting my 390 for 15 years since I was 15.
The past 2 seasons Ive had a few hangups and minor little inconveniences but shes still a bad bitch that I cant cheat on.

I shoot cases through mine every year and it will be handed down to my grandson one day...
