Why can't any gun manufacturers get the safety right on a shotgun???? They should all be like Mossberg's....on top of the damned receiver...thats one of the main reasons I shoot a citori almost exclusively....the saftey is in the right place....whats all of this shite with the damned thing located somewhere around the trigger guard???

That puts the safety in a very exposed place IMO. Very easy to hit it with the palm of your hand. I have a side by side with the safety on top, and much prefer it near the trigger.

I actually like the safety in front of the trigger on my Vinci

Beretta A300 - The 3" version of the A400, it boasts similar benefits but without a 3.5" chamber. Best buy for a 3" gas gun IMO. Same bullshite warranty. Retail - $750 (camo) $650 (black/wood)

The A300 is not the 3" version of the A400. The guts of both guns are very different.

I am by no means an expert, but I do own both of these.

You're right, I just checked. I combined the A300 with the A400 Action. The prices should've given it away for me (the A400 Action retails in the 13s and 14s - can get it with or without KO). I will go back and update. Been out of the gun business for 6 months, cut me some slack

If it has to be near the trigger behind is better than in front...My SV safety is in front of the damned trigger guard...I look for it in 2 other places everytime I am drawing down on a bird...first the tang, where it should be, then behind the trigger guard as any sensible person outside of Mossberg and Browning citori engineers would put it and then I remember that the damned thing is in front of the trigger.

I have never accidentally took a shotgun off safety with a tang mounted safety...it is the perfect place for it...as you raise the gun your grip hand automatically has the thumb in the perfect place to take the gun off safe and your trigger finger is no where near the trigger fumbling around looking for a safety...

I have never had an incident with a safety mounted near the trigger guard either for that....other than constantly looking for the damned thing on my SV...

shoot enough you get used to where it is
I prefer the receiver mounted safety on my citori it's right where my thumb wants to find it
I have never seen or heard of an accident but I have seen idiots who take their shotgun off safe before it's shouldered or leave it off after coming off shoulder

those people are not welcome in my blind

I have never had my safety move on my citori unless I moved it (since 1984). I also have zero problem with any gun and where the safety is located. That being said, I shoot my citori when waterfowl hunting because it's the most balanced gun I've ever shot.
