The way I see it, with the coaches he listed as potentially staying on with Jimbo(minus Ensminger), they're all guys Jimbo would want to keep

I agree. I am just saying i find it hard to believe LSU called the shots on this. I've never heard of someone hiring a NC winning coach, and telling them "this is who you must keep."

You never know what is his commitment to his current staff. Maybe he sees he has a good working relationships with them, aka Seminole type like O's Cajun and decides to take them with him. It's up to him to choose his own staff and I also doubt that LSU or any school can force a new coach to keep someone as part of a contract.

Honestly outside of Aranda (and O in a perfect world but i think most of us realize he's probably gone of he doesn't get the gig) new guy can do whatever tf he wants with the staff. I would personally like Craig and Juluke to stay along with Aranda. Would probably keep Raymond too.

I like this. And I don't think LSU is forcing guys on Jimbo - in fact, I some of the ppl in place makes the job more appealing to him. I wouldn't be surprise if the staff looked closely like this:

HC - Jimbo
OC/QB Craig
RB Juluke
WR TBD
OL TBD ( I think grimes will move on; can't see trickett coming back this late in the year)
DC/ILB/Associate HC Aranda
DL/RC/Asst HC Orgeron
DB Raymond

So really he can fill WR, TE, ST, OLB, OL with his own guys (looks like he combines ST w/ a positional coach). Nice blend of old and new

What possible reason wouldn't he keep Aranda at the least?

He'd keep Aranda for as long as he could. These people saying he wouldn't are fools.

Not saying he wouldn't keep him. He likes what he sees out of our current defense.

Hes just not even returning the phone call, if it includes staff being forced on him. Because you wont work your arse of for someone that didn't want you

Fisher's the guy at $6 Million

So he'd leave FSU for a small pay raise that LSU would match?

Myles Brennan under Jimbo Fisher scares me. Might be unfair.

Not only that, dude, he is apparently willing to pay $5.4 million for all the FSU assistant coaches. That's how bad he wants the LSU job.

quote:

Perhaps the most interesting detail is the buyout clause, which is tied to Fisher's assistant coaches. If he leaves for another job, he has to buy out the contracts of any assistant coaches that do not stay with the new staff -- as a part of the contract, he added $500,000 to their contract pool, and if all coaches left he would owe them approximately $5.4 million, if Fisher left early.

5. Jimbo Fisher, Florida State – $5,250,000
https://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/salaries/

quote:

His contract could be worth as much as $44 million dollars over the next seven years, but it will also cost him dearly if he decides to move on. His buyout is reportedly $5 million dollars if he leaves before 2017, $3 million if he leaves between 2017-18 and $1 million if he leaves in 2019 or later.

So, LSU is still paying Les, giving everybody on current staff raises and bonuses to go with the new titles, will pay Jimbo $6 million and his buyout of $5 million.

Well, at least that will solve the problem of fans leaving early. Nobody will be able to afford to even attend the first half anymore. Maybe they can start selling tickets by quarters instead of for the whole game. 4th quarter tickets will be the cheapest.
