Good thoughts to you while you fight this awful disease. While the prognosis isn't good, just remember that many people out there have beaten the odds, and you will as well!

Enjoy every day from here on out

As someone with a family member fighting cancer my advice...which isnt the same as it would have been before all this...is to use this as an opportunity to be the person you want to be. Fight with courage, grace, and never let it defeat you.

Please don't take the 'fight it' comments to mean you have to spend the remaining time miserable on chemo being in and out of the hospital. Discuss with your doctor what constitutes quality of life for you and decide accordingly.

Do your research and go where the outcomes have been best for treatment.

I have had two friends with it. Won one lost one. The win has been 7 years and ongoing. The loss took 5 months.

I have nothing to offer but prayers. Fight it as hard as you can. Miracles happen and doctors aren't always right.

Hi everyone,
Seems I have been remiss and not paying attention to my thread.
Just to let everyone know after all of the advice, my husband and I have discussed it and we are going to go to MD Anderson and have a consultation to see what they have to say.
Gonna first hear what my current oncologist says this week then advise him I will be getting a second opinion. Also, have to verify Blue Cross/Blue Shield will cover out of state claims(their website is down right now).

Thanks for all the encouragement and advice. I know the odds are bad but need to look at all possibilities before making a decision! Will keep everyone updated.

I am so sorry to hear about your FIL and your little bother, Rick. That is heartbreaking, I feel so bad for you. Your little brother lasting so long is very encouraging.
I need to see if my husband will be in 11/6 (he works offshore).
Thanks for the links will add them to my reading list. I have been on MD Anderson's website most of the afternoon.

Thanks for the encouragement!

NB, I have never been a person who has regrets. Every major decision I made in my life I did not/could not regret - I just chalked them up to life experiences. Things I might have done a little differently, sure. But really no regrets.

I had a friend with pancreatic cancer. Most joyful guy to be around. It was hard to see him pass away. He lived about one year after being diagnosed.

My sister had it and she beat it. 4 years out and going strong.

I seriously am praying for you and your family. God bless you all.
