Best tree stand is Krinner's. Don't have to fight trying to get tree straight just stand it in the stand and push the pedal until it grabs the trunk....

re: Cabin rental - no sheets or towels??? - lovelsu
Hoping to fly into Bangor but flights are limited. I still have miles with United but the flights using miles are 4 layovers and about a 13 hour day. Might have to fly out of MSY for a decent flight. Bangor is about an hour from the cottage and Portland about 2.5 hours. My college roommate and I are...

re: Cabin rental - no sheets or towels??? - lovelsu
Just seems odd to me and I have never encountered this. Heck I have been on a 10 day lodge to lodge horseback trip to cabins only accessible on horseback and they provided sheets and towels. If we were driving it would not be a big deal but flying means an extra suitcase and baggage fees. ...

re: Anyone else with Blue Cross HMO get a nice letter this week? (sarcasm) - lovelsu
Copied from other thread - my experience with BCBS PPO. We have BCBS PPO Louisiana and I am extremely impressed/happy with them. I was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer last year. In a year of chemo, radiation, surgery and more chemo nothing was ever denied. It was such a blessing to not have to f...

Cabin rental - no sheets or towels??? - lovelsu
Good morning, I have been looking at a beautiful cottage rental in Maine in the Moosehead lake region for a trip planned in 7/18. I contacted the owners and was informed they do not supply sheets or towels for the rental! They claim it is normal for rentals in that area. There is not a washer and d...

Haven't been in years but we used to enjoy The Oyster Bar. No one ever seems to mention it so it may have gone downhill. The food and view used to be great....

re: Using two different airlines for a trip - lovelsu
Had a similar scenario with Alaska Air and United. When I mentioned we we're connecting on United in Denver Alaska air offered to transfer the bags to United. I had a bad feeling about it but agreed. Sure enough bags ended up in Seattle and us in N.O. I used to be a frequent flyer and can honestly ...

re: Pancreatic cancer update - Part 3 - lovelsu
Hey Johnny thanks for the kind words of encouragement and support. I have already had chemo for 6 months when I was diagnosed. I also had 28 rounds of radiation while taking one of the strongest forms of oral chemo (that chemo kicked my ass). I then had surgery and now I have to face yet another 6 m...
