I'm wishing you the best in your fight. It looks like there are some promising therapies beginning to come online. Read down toward the end of this article. It's from the University of New Mexico, but that's just coincidental, it was the first article that came up. LINK

Please keep us informed of how you're doing.

You need to get to the #1 doctor in the US this week and do whatever he/she says. Waiting to treat it and/or going to just an average or above-average doctor isn't something I would suggest if you REALLY want to live and beat this. When it comes to cancer speed and the best doctors are what makes the most difference.

I know of your Uncle (attended Notre Dame). Is he your dad's brother?

No. He married my mom's sister. No blood relation but yea it's still been rough with each of them fighting cancer.

Sad part no one in my family ever had cancer - I get to be the first!

It runs one one side of my family, My dad's, not so much on the other side. More heart problems on that side.

I wish you the best in whatever path you choose. Watching my father fight, and reading your posts, make me doubt how much composure I would have if I were in either one yall's shoes.

Live today like it is your last. Tell every person that means something to you how much they mean to you. When you're gone, all they will have are memories. I watched my best friend of many years succumb to terminal cancer three years ago. I started typing this post last night and started crying thinking of it and stopped. It was October of 2013 when he got his diagnosis. Last Thursday was his son's birthday. This time of the year is hard for me, but I'm not his wife, son, daughter, father, mother, or sister.

Just live and love man.

Fight and Be Positive. It's amazing the effect determination and a positive mindset can have on someone's health.

Pray and fight. Pray and fight. Pray and fight. And when you've done that, pray and fight some more.
I admire your composure OP.
You've got this. You're obviously a strong woman and facing something that has to be overwhelming, but it is apparent you have a good mental makeup and that's a huge asset.
You and your family will be in my prayers. Tomorrow is promised to no one. Try to look at it this way, at least you know now and have a chance to battle it while getting things in order just in case. Little consolation, I know, but many won't get that opportunity.
Just don't give up and don't despair. You've
Mentioned prayer in earlier posts so I assume you're a faithful person. Try to take comfort in your faith. That and the way you choose to approach the situation through you're own personal perspective are the two most powerful things you've got going for you.

Lost best friend from home and Dad to PC. Same emotions as you, still tough.

We should all live each day the way you recommended, sick or not. Going to aim for here starting now.

Prayers that OP is an exception and has many good years ahead of her.

A guy I work with said his wife had it ten years ago. She is still here today and going strong. Don't give up.
