This week I was diagnosed with Stage 3B pancreatic cancer. Per the doctor with no treatment life expectancy is 6 months, with chemo treatment 2 years. Everything I have read online is depressing - they don't even go past a 5 year life expectancy.
Does anyone know of any good outcomes of pancreatic cancer?

I'm sorry that you are going through this. Pancreatic cancer is unfortunately difficult to treat.

Fight it like hell.

For some patients, there is a procedure called Whipple surgery - check it out and if you are a candidate try Johns-Hopkins hospital in Baltimore. Good luck.

Praying for you. Don't let statistics get you down. Stay strong. May want to look at clinical trials or find a center that specializes in pancreatic cancer specifically.

Really hope someone comes on here with a good story because my only experience with someone diagnosed was not good. Do everything you can to fight and go places you've never been but want to immediately. I can help with airfare if you need to fly anywhere

Live like hell while you're still able to. Take that trip you always wanted to, tell people you love them more, and order more desert. Prayers sent.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg had pancreatic cancer about 7 years ago.

First of all, my best wishes to you and to your family. I've been aware of a beating of long odds such as these before, but not sure there's anything you can "do"to achieve that except to live how you want to live. My daughter-in-law is an oncology nurse and she is perpetually appalled at cancer patients being forced into treatments they do not want to endure - some pressure from the medical industry but mostly from their own families.

It's time for you to look after you, and no decision you make for yourself will be wrong. Good luck and I am pulling for you.

Please don't take the 'fight it' comments to mean you have to spend the remaining time miserable on chemo being in and out of the hospital. Discuss with your doctor what constitutes quality of life for you and decide accordingly.

Working on it. Luckily I traveled a lot in my last job so I have a ton of airline miles. Two of the main things on my list are seeing the Northern Lights so trying to get to Alaska & also a trip to Maine.
I have hit most of the others in earlier years.

Sorry to hear it. My uncle has gotten increasingly better over the last two months of about a year since discovery. So we all have a positive outlook and so does he.

Keep your head up and make each day count. Spend every day with people you love.
