You have a valid point, I left at the end of the 3rd bc of traffic and imagine a vast majority of people did as well. The amount of people on campus has grown exponentially over the last couple years tho

If you know the game is too long for you to sit through, then don't go. I'm not disagreeing with you about the length of the games but, dude, support your team.

Then don't get a serious buzz before the game. It is possible to have a good time sober. Wait until after. I'm reading all these excuses but I watch several games yesterday and no stadium cleared out as fast as Tiger Stadium.

The biggest reason for people leaving is cell phones. We can communicate with each other at anytime.

It used to be that you tailgated and then made plans to meet up after the game. Once in the game you had no ability to communicate with others except the few people you were with. Thus, you just stayed at the game. You didn't and couldn't know what everyone else was doing, and you didn't want to leave for risk of having nothing to do.

How many people are on their phones all game? How many times have you heard one of the people around you say "___ is going do__. Do you want to go?"

20 years ago no one left because they didn't know where everyone else was.

TV time outs should be outlawed. Never stop the game for no reason.

And my pet peev! Reviews. This is how they should be handled.

EVERY play should be reviewed in the booth. The play should never be stopped for a review. When the guys in the booth see the need for a reversal they stop play. If the offense gets the next play off before the booth can overturn a call then tough titty. That simply means the call wasn't super freaking horrible.

How many times have you already seen a replay and know the call was shite. And then get treated to the ref saying the play is under review! What? You know it will be reversed already... but you are forced to wait another five minutes for the idiots upstairs to make the call.

Say good bye to that wonderful tv revenue and we can go back to Tigervision.

very good point.....it's too easy to coordinate with other friends when they are leaving and where they are going. We used to just say, Ok, lets leave at 2 min into the 4th quarter if we are winning by 2 touchdowns....or something like that

Stands looked more full at the start of the second half to me. That made me happy.

The way they allow TV to dictate the pace of the game is ridiculous.

True. Wall Street Journal recently had an article about increase in length of CFB games and impact on fans either a)not going or b) leaving early. The writer even quoted an LSU season ticket holder in the article.

It's a little bit of all of this, right? But when it's a good matchup, it doesn't seem to matter how long it lasts. I've been a season ticket holder for eighteen years now and it's changed a little. And I truly believe cellphones/social media is a lot of the reason. It's a valid point that you can text friends and head back to the tailgate early. We usually stay the entire game, but when you're up by three touchdowns in the fourth, you start thinking about another beer and getting through traffic. That's human nature.

Another huge pet peeve is the social aspect, especially among women. Jeez, the slutty dresses and high heels drive me nuts. It's a football game. Football. So many of my friends go down to party with their sorority daughters, dressed the way no nearly 50 year old woman needs to be dressed. So, yeah, for a LOT of people this is a chance to go back to college, drink and socialize. But they paid for the tickets. Guess they can do what they want with them....and wear what they want to. That's just my pet peeve.

Yesterday I was fortunate enough to gain a free ticket on the 50 yard line. First time going to a game in a while where I wasn't in the student section. What is wrong with LSU is that the people who are buying these high dollar tickets don't care to show up or only show up to make an appearance then leave before halftime. They simply do not love football. They see it as a social event not a game.

I like the idea of keeping the clock running on 1st downs, selling beer, and no more post kickoff timeouts. There's nothing worse than TD, review w/commercial, PAT, commercial, kickoff, commercial.

Being stuck in traffic for 3 hours to go 4 miles is probably the main reason.

Bottom line is this is America.
As an adult, if I want to enjoy an adult beverage while paying money to be fricking entertained, I should have that option.

It's retarded the sec doesn't allow beer sales at sporting events should the hosting school choose to do so.
