College football desperately needs to try to get games to start and end by the 3 hour mark. Being inside a stadium with a serious buzz wearing off in the 2nd half after a day of festivities just sucks the life out of anyone. Not sure what the average CFB game lasts but I remember being at a 7:30 game walking out of the stadium at 11:15 pm. Ideas to make the game move a bit more efficiently...

-change the rule on clock stopping after 1st downs.

-TV timeouts should be only after scoring plays and team timeouts. Eliminate the post kickoff and punt media timeouts. This will never happen but could be initiated by NCAA if they really wanted to.

-Fogure out a way to speed up the review process. Open for suggestions here.

-Start selling booze at games. (At least beer).Other conferences sell beer why can't the SEC?

If the NFL can get games down to 3 or 3:15 minutes CFB can do it too.

Just my honest take on what's happening.

As a fan watching at home, by the middle of the 4th quarter, i too am pretty tired of watching the game when it hits the 3 hour mark

I think number 1 is selling beer, if they do that, 80% of the people that leave will stay

Even at the movie when a film hits 2:30 people get antsy. Just need to find a way to get games done at 3:00 mark.

Name a stadium that wouldn't have empited out with the home team up 40 in the fourth.

It's just part of the football culture now and we excel at it for whatever reason. Some leave to drink more, some leave to go back to a tailgate, some leave because of taking little kids who have zero interest in the game and most leave to try and beat the terrible traffic.

I stayed the whole game and though it looked like no one was left at the end, we waited in traffic forever just to hit the Interstate. Whatever...I'm used to it and I can deal with it even better when we give effort like we did last night.

The reviews are ridiculous, they wait until the last second to do a review then it takes another 5-10 minutes to get through the TV timeout and announcement.

ESPN is not to bad, they have another game to get on, so they tend to move it along. But as Hanagriff said last night, when there is an injury, don't focus on that player for 5 minutes, then go to a break. Do the commercials during reviews and injuries.

Now CBS is the real culprit, when this contract is up they should never be given another one. They always drag that 2:30 game out for at least 4 hours.

But I don't swallow the excuse that game length is the reason for so many empty seat. The Greek exodus begins at halftime. Someone said Saban spoke out against that practice at Gumpville and it helped. I hope an LSU coach does the same, If you can't go 3 hours without alcohol you have a problem.

FIFY
"Fans" now days are showing up to make a social appearance and take selfies. Many of those that leave aren't truly watching the games, so they're not invested.

LSU was up on Miss St 23-3 at halftime and the stadium started emptying out. It doesnt matter the score, people arent at those games to watch football anymore......it's a social status thing, they wasnt to take selfies and see how many likes they can get on social media

True. Today's fast food, instant gratification culture has the attention span of a gnat.

Won't happen. The new player concussion and injury protocol won't allow it.
