It's almost all about traffic avoidance/reduction. That is unquestionably the dominant factor for early departure

So the difference between LSU fans and fans at Michigan, Ohio State, Tennessee, Georgia, Clemson, Alabama, and numerous other schools is that South Louisianans are generally alcoholics?
I can buy that.
I can buy that.

Why do they make LSU games longer than the rest?

are you saying that's a bad thing?

Being inside a stadium with a serious buzz wearing off in the 2nd half after a day of festivities just sucks the life out of anyone.
Not everyone is a weak willed booze hound that has to be buzzed or drunk as a pre-requisite to having a good time.
If you can't attend a game (Or any social event) without drinking, you might be wise to seek out the advise of a mental health or substance abuse professional.

Way too long a half time in college football. NFL halftime flies by. That and introduce the commercials on the side of the game like the play through adds on the Ryder cup. That would speed things up

Maybe, but drinking while enjoying the game sure is a lot mor fun.
It's why I love the stadium club.

If the game didn't take so long, alcohol was sold, and the on-field product was better, people might start thinking differently.

Now CBS is the real culprit, when this contract is up they should never be given another one. They always drag that 2:30 game out for at least 4 hours.
Agreed, CBS has a real problem. ESPN to a lesser extent. Big Ten Network games all seem to last around 3 hours, so there's a way around it.
I watched the Northwestern-Iowa game on ESPN and it lasted 3:25. It was Northwestern's longest game of the year and that was partially due to a player being carted off with a possible neck injury.

And beat that traffic, yo!
Posted on 10/2/16 at 1:05 pm to caljammer82
I think the games are too short. Have you ever noticed that when doing something that you really like doing that time flies, and when doing something unpleasant, time drags? ie: vacation/work.
Posted on 10/2/16 at 1:06 pm to caljammer82
honestly, it's not the length of games. It's that it takes 2 hours to sit in traffic to get home.
Period. End of discussion.
BR traffic is HORRIBLE.

Maybe in the past year or so, but the Dome stays pretty packed at least until the 4th quarter...even if they are losing by 30 and their record is 0-10, people will still show up for games and stay to just about the end

Back in the day, you can spend $100 for 3 tickets, show up at the stadium parking lot at 8am with a 10 cases of beer, and a 5th of bourbon to sneak into the stadium to avoid losing your buzz, while having have a good ole time in the stadium watching a quality opponent every week till the clock said 0:00.
All the more reason to not leave early if it's such a big deal that you have to spend so much more for tickets

"Fans" now days are showing up to make a social appearance and take selfies. Many of those that leave aren't truly watching the games, so they're not invested.
Total evolution and evolvement (In a negative way) of the crowd in Tiger Stadium the last 5-10 years or so.
The reasons everybody departs early are talked about on here on a daily basis and all are valid, but there just aren't as many true die-hards in the stadium any longer.
Sad to see from long-time die-hards like myself that have been in that stadium on a regular basis since the 70's.
LSUAD doesn't help either with all the obnoxious, annoying and irritating music.
Posted on 10/2/16 at 1:23 pm to tgrbaitn08
Yea because the majority of fans that go to LSU games are millennials.
Posted on 10/2/16 at 1:24 pm to caljammer82
I am a certifiable zombie by halftime. After about ten hours in the sun, pulling my corches shorts out of my arse, two bottle of cheap whiskey, 14 hot dogs, three plates of Jambalaya and a single serving of Pez I am ready to head home. And then they give us a Manilow medley and two quarters of stops and starts and maybe an odd touchdown here and there. I mean, I got a Serta and a shitter with a heated seat and a Yorkie to feed. Damn.
