The nature of the non stop clock in soccer does t allow for breaks.

Until LSU stats selling large ads on their jerseys and putting ads on the field or sideline they have to have commercials.

There's nothing worse than TD, review w/commercial, PAT, commercial, kickoff, commercial.

This is the biggest pile of shite there is. It's fricking stupid. My wife does not like football outside of high school games because of the pace and it being 4 damn hours.

She tries to watch and get involved but she's right. She brought this up again last night and asked what the reason was for some many commercial breaks after we scored. It's shitty.

After a score go to commercial. Come back and kick off and play the fricking game.

There are a few ancillary reasons why people leave early. They have all been mentioned hear. But the one main reason IS the traffic, and here's why. When we had a 68,000 seat stadium, (before all of the upper decks), traffic was very manageable. When we added the west upper deck, that added 7,500 people. At 2 people per car, that another 3,750 cars. Repeat for east upper deck. Then we added the south upper. I'm not sure what the capacity is there, but it brings the total to roughly 101,000 fans. Subtract the 68,000 original total and you have 33,000 more fans. Thats 16,500 more vehicles crowding on to the same roadways we have always had. You can't put 10 pounds of crap in to a 5 pound bag and not have problems

The cell phone lights was pretty cool looking, but I hope it doesn't distract the players.

The piped in music was awful, especially when they started it when either team was huddling to call a play, and kept it on until the team got to the line. Utterly disgusting.

To the OP.

Seems to me you have the problem. You and all the rest like you. You go to the pre game festivities, tailgate, booze it up etc so on. Then you go into the stadium to watch the game and your buzz wears off sucking the life out of you. And in your mind its the games fault for being too long.

Why don't you just go tailgate, booze it up and then go home and watch it on TV. Let real fans go to watch the entire game. And as far as you wanting them to sell booze at the game...ah no. We have enough problems already with the pre game drinking.

Just my honest take on whats really happening!!

Cutting TV timeouts to 2 or 3 commercials at a time would do wonders. There is a big difference between one and a half minutes for a TV timeout and four minutes when you have eight commercials. The longer timeouts take the life out of the stadium.

It was silly that they waited until after the TV timeout to review the targeting call that got Xavier Lewis ejected.

I don't think traffic is the main reason fans leave early but this post brings up a good point. The stadium capacity has increased and tailgating has exploded whereas the infrastructure is largely unchanged since my first game in '70.

Good point. There are thousands more people tailgating only, bringing yet more vehicles to the area. Add that number to the people actually going to the game.
