Manda, savoies, Richards... all trash. Might as well serve me Vienna sausage.

Did Vine's flood back in August?
Nope stopped by there a few weeks ago to pick up a few packs of sausage and it was business as usual.

Real smoked sausage you put into your rice dishes. Not for the grill. Gets no better than bourgeois in Schriever.

D&J's Grocery Store in St Amant is where I buy mine. Good homemade sausage of many varieties.

While Ville Platte has many places that have good authentic smoked sausage (non hotdog style) my go to place is Country Meat Block in Opelousas (pure pork smoked sausage).

How does Teets match up with Conecuh, for those that have tried both?
It blows Conecuh out of the water. Conecuh is too greasy and the flavor dominates whatever you put it in. I like it fine grilled but not in a pot of something.

i wouldn't give my biggest enemy Richard's sausage to cook with, just my opinion
That's fine. Once you leave the land of white boots and speciality meat markets Richards is the best readily available smoked sausage you can get. Is it Teets or Rabideauxs? No. Can I cook better food with it that you can with the other two? Yes.

This guy.
I actually like the sausage at bourques. I smoke it myself though.

Growing up, Rod's in Church Point was my favorite but you have to be careful with it because it will overpower almost anything you put it in. Nunu's in Youngsville has a good smoked with Steen's syrup that is fantastic.
I've never tried Teets but I will be making a road trip soon

I have yet to see it in the BR area but when I head back north to visit my parents I buy it at Mac's Fresh Market a small north LA chain. Think I'm going to swing by Ville Platte to so I can check out all of the Teet's fuss when I go bow hunting this weekend.

Lejeunes is legit! Their ponce is great too!

Rabideauxs is the best out of the store bought brands. Richards smoked sausage sucks and Savoie's recipe went downhill. I no longer buy them.
