re: Mr.B’s Bistro - RetiredTiger
If they happen to have the deconstructed ravoli, ignnore that name and order it. It is served at lunch but it would be a good app for dinner portion wise for two. As said earlier, the service, drinks, gumbo, bbq shrimp, whatever the seafood special is and most everything else is great. I am sure the ...

re: Antoine’s - RetiredTiger
Ask for Chetta or Charles to be your waiter/ The oysters rock are the original recipe , no spinach. Oysters foche and soufflé potatoes with bearnaise to dip them in are all great starters. For entree ask Chetta or Charles what looks good that day....

re: Thoughts on LSU/Coach O from people outside Louisiana - RetiredTiger
I'm glad y'all had a good trip. I love touting Purple and Gold anywhere but really don't care what they think. I appreciate the ones that yell negative comments as much as I do positive comments and the enduing conversations....

re: Big Cruise Ships - RetiredTiger
We did an RCL out of San Juan that was in a port 6 out of 6 days I believe and it was great. I know we hit St Lucia, Barbados,St Martin/St Marteen St Croix I believe was the last day and maybe Antigua back to San Juan and it was great. Seems Walmart shoppers don't fly as much to a port actually in ...

re: Slap Ya Momma gumbo mix - RetiredTiger
We like the KARY's brand products better than others for a quick bisque or gumbo. For jambalaya, there is a package I find at Fresh Pickens made in Pierre Part that is good. My Grandkids from Texas ask for it everytime they come here and I cart some up to Coppell when we go there....

re: Best sausage in the baton rouge area - RetiredTiger
First and last sausage buy at Teets was disappointing. The pork was so salty we could not eat it. I figured someone did not wash the casing enough. The mixed and the garlic were ok but not worth a return trip. Johnsons here in LFT and Best Stop in Scott are two of my local favs.In BR area I would say...

re: Argentine Shrimp - RetiredTiger
Similar to royal reds but NOT the same thing. My Albertsons has some lately but I stay stocked on royal reds from Joe Patti. Very delicate and super easy to overcook. Gulf Shrimp are easy to get here but we like royal reds steamed very briefly and dipped in brown butter. Tried frying some one time in...

re: I need some recs - trying to make pastry cups - RetiredTiger
Puff pastry sheets work great too. I fill mine with dried beans before baking to prevent some of the "puff"because I am usually starting a soak of the beans while preping the evening meal filling for the pastry cups. The tops of the pre-made cups work great under everything from fruit and whipped cr...

re: Sams Club For Tires - RetiredTiger
Just ordered and had mounted two sets of Defenders at Sams on our vehicles. They did a great job and there was a $70.00 credit on four Michelin tires plus the mounting w/road hazard and lifetime rotation/balance was another $60.00 off since on line special was for free. Right after that COSTCO ran a...
