re: Can't seem to ever cook Ruby Red shrimp right - RetiredTiger
You probably know this but Royal Reds we get on the AL/FL gulf coast are not the same as the ones sold in grocery stores. Some places do call them Ruby Reds as I have seen at Publix and Albertsons. Those usually come from Argentina and are generally poor quality. Royal reds require very little pre...

re: Bahamas/Caribbean Catamaran charter - RetiredTiger
In the BVI's it is much easier than the Bahamas because of the water depth vs the islands of the Bahamas. You are also in more protected waters in the Sr Francis Drake Channel. The only place that has an interesting nav channel is Anedga. You get charts and nav tools but there are also easy to read ...

re: Bahamas/Caribbean Catamaran charter - RetiredTiger
If I can answer any questions I would love to. Three couples went blind the first time after much research and it was so good we went back the following two years. We chartered an Horizon 50' bare boat and loved it. Virgin Traders has so great cats as does the Moorings now. BARS ARE EVERYWHERE ON TH...

re: Bahamas/Caribbean Catamaran charter - RetiredTiger
Bahamas are very nice but if you are going to do this, look at Virgin Traders charter company in the BVI's. I have done this three different times in the past years and I can tell you it is one of the finest experiences you can have. We did it with one other couple and their son the last year and th...

re: Sams vs Costco - RetiredTiger
Sams because they help is consumers by identifying what is on each row along with ID numbers. Costco has no such sinage other than numeric but with no key or map you have to guess what is where and by then, they moved it. All just marketing to force you to walk the entire store. I'll do costco for ...

re: What's a good seafood market in gulf shores/orange beach? - RetiredTiger
Joe Pattis is amazing. Their prices in some cases are half of Blalocks and their selection is beyond believeable. It is an easy drive as well. We bought 30lbs of IQF headless royal reds, not the Argentenian pinks like Publix and others sell, for $7.39/lb when Blalocks wanted $13.99 for a smaller coun...

re: Chicago style pizza in Chicago - RetiredTiger
The first two replies are correct and they are both different so try both and skip the rest. Thats been my experience for the last many years. You certainly cannot go wrong. Don't fall for the Ginos East or UNO pizza. They are not terrible for sure but P and Lou Malnattis are the best....
