Too Expensive for us. We had a 1962 Chevy Biscayne for most of my childhood.

I often wondered how many people actually used pledge on those wooden panels?

Oh yeah. 1971 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser with the overhead skylight, faux wood trim and forward-facing 3rd seat in the back.
455 CID with 4 barrel carb. You could squeal the tires at 30mph if you floored it.

hell yes, my Dad got the first "triple option" that came out, circa '66-67?
then he upped his game to the '69 Country Squire, had a 429 in it, first car that I could legally drive, first date, etc., my buddies called it the ambulance,
ETA: Ara Paseghian did the triple option ads for Ford

If my memory is correct, the Squire had a tailgate that dropped down or opened as a conventional passenger door. Unique for its time and a big selling point for Ford wagons.

Buick, but yeah. Pretty much.

and the window rolled down, hence the "triple option" ads, plus it had the now famous "third row" in the back, SUV forerunner

Pfft .... we had sunroofs everywhere --

Identical to the one on top, except it had spokes on the hubcaps.

We had the 1984 Ford Country Squire, wood grain, triple option door, with the 2 rear seats that opened to face each other. Good times laying all those seats down and sleeping on the way to Disney, or folding the back down with the carpet rolled up so we could slide around as the car made turns.

Family? Hell, I had a friend that had one. We had a nickname for it but I can't remember what it was. Had the wood panel trim and everything.

We had the baby blue 63 Falcon wagon!
My brother inherited it and drove it until 78 or 79. We called it the Blue Flame. It had a straight six that my dad overhauled in the back yard. It burned manifold gaskets up and would then sound like a tank.

Rear back seat that opened from the floor was the shite!

Yes indeed. Us kids used to fight to get that back seat.

Parents had 4 kids so yes we had one back in mid 70's.

I think those "wood" panels were actually fiberglass?
