just got back from there fishing w them. 41 sails in 4 days of fishing....not too shabby!

I've fished Cabo and C.R. several times. C.R. gets my vote any day hands down. Its about the same flight from Houston either way.

Other than fishing (and hookers), what does Costa Rica offer?

Trying to plan a couples trip and fishing is appealing, but would need some other adventurous stuff to pull it off.

The volcano is supposed to be better than the beach.

If you are looking for adventure, there are few places better than Costa Rica. Aside from fishing there are tons of places to hike, zip line, raft, sightsee, etc...

Misread the post. Thought he said "a few" places better. Time to start digging a little deeper

boat ride tour through mangrove forest interacting w the monkeys.....zip lining above the trees.....active volcano tour.....horseback rides on beach, or 4 wheeler rides....CR eco tourism prob brings in more people than the fishing does.

The Fly boats at Maverick Yachts are at Los Suenos. I've stayed at Quepos before in the Manuel Antonio National Park area (where the volcano is) and my wife loved it there.

Yep. I had a blast zip lining and actually had more fun going down the water slide that was cut into the side of a mountain.

I think I have mine sold on a Costa Rica trip next Spring, although she hates what she has heard of the beach. However, it's really a graduation trip for my son who is graduating HS next year. Looks like my window is March since that is Spring Break.

Isn't March a pretty good time to go for the fishing?

we are going for 6 days, 2 of which will be taken up by travel

of the 4 days there we are leaving 1 day open to explore on our own, sailfishing 1 day, white water rafting one day, and going to tortuga island one day. this is tortuga island:

From what I found with a quick search, flights are around $350 round-trip, hotels can be had for $150/night and charters are about $700/day for a basic boat offshore for 4 people. You can spend more or less on all of those.
