One child would love to go, the other not so much. We have been to NY, drove the PCH, Key West, and a couple other places in the past few years. Every body doesn't make it alright for us, but usually things turn out very well as we plan well. In life you need to learn to deal with a little adversity. It's not a small happy world after all, all the time. To each his own though.

I've never been, nor have my children. I don't see that changing any time soon.

We go every year. We go other places too, but we have a lot more fun at Disney. Playa Del Carmen and Cozumel were fun, for four days. Beach is fun for a day. Cabin in Gatlinburg was fine. You have to find a place where the chirrens have something to do, where you don't have the constant threat of them drowning. That's why when we plan our big trip every year, it's to Disney. Plus we just know everything will be okay. The employees will help you out, the customer service will be great, and there's always stuff to do. It's something you have to plan (thanks to the new fastpass system), but I don't see what the problem is. Haters gonna hate I guess.

Disney is trashy.

People who take their kids there more than 2-3 times are VERY trashy.

There's SO much more to seen in this country than that stupid ripoff trap.

I'm a bit different being an Orlando local. We rotate annual passes between the attractions here so you can just pop in for a few rides or maybe a special concert. It doesn't prevent normal vacations though. My kids have seen DC, class 4 rapids, caves, auto races, surfing, hiking, Niagara Falls, the Alamo, multiple aquariums, zoos, and science museums. I try to show them as much of the variety out there we can afford.

I never went as a kid, and took my kids once.

One time was enough for me. I'd rather spend my money and take them places that are real, not to see a big mouse and on a fake safari.

It's not like you only get one vacation in your life.

I make less than $100k and in the last three or four years have been to Disney, San ransisco, CO, NM, Texas, Destin, DC, NYC, Nashville, Gatlinburg, Roadtripped from NYC to Witchita, northern New York state, Ohio, two cruises, and multiple weekend trips.

Half of the above trips I brought kids. Disney is by far the most expensive, but it's great for the kids.
But this idea that people who love Disney don't do anything else is preposterous.

My kids are 9 and 11. And love the beach more than Disney. We took them the one time just so they could see what it was all about. We do several small vacations a year and usually one big one.

We let them choose this year, and they chose Roatan, Honduras. Can't wait to head that way next week.

I don't get some of these people in here who are like my kid has been to this many countries or my kid will go to all these countries. What benefit is it to take kids overseas and deal with that especially while they can't really appreciate it.

My wife and I stick to zoos and water parks and amusement parks while our kids are young and once they are in their teens, then we can play more adult overseas trips. Otherwise you are just having delusions of grandeur.

Word up. Do you know how fricking boring the Grand Canyon was when I was 5? Kids don't give a frick about that. All these people on here with these kids that have been all over the map know their kids under 10 years old watch Disney constantly.

Some people do take more than one vacation a year....

I have taken my 3 year old to Disney 2x. But he has also been to 4 other countries (soon to be 5), Puerto Rico and USVI's. As well as various US cities.

If I continue that trend by the time my son is 12 he will have gone to Disney 10 or so times. Of course once he is in school and Disney is only available over the summer that shite is gonna end. No way do I want to be there in the summer.

Or you are just having a normal family vacation and actually choosing to take your kids with you. I find it sad the number of people that choose to leave their kids at home for convenience sake.

I think what he meant is believing that your kids would rather do all that other stuff than go to Disney, if they are given the choice

The thread is about people who go to Disney every year. I have multiple "friends" on FB who fit this description and it appears they don't go anywhere else.

Both of my kids could most definitely appreciate seeing the Coliseum, the Vatican and AC Milan playing Juventus at the San Siro. They will never forget it. I know I didn't and I went at their ages.

I applaud you for being able to budget to do these things. But I for the life of me have no idea how you can do all of that. We have to deal with some student loans, but make a pretty good living with our combined incomes. No way I could afford to take more than one vacation a year, especially if that vacation is in the price range of a week at Disney. We don't blow our money either. A lot goes in savings and retirement. But I'm not taking a cut on savings and retirement to go see a mouse and ride a roller coaster. I am still young though and my son is only 8 months old. As he gets older, I may loosen up with that stuff.

Disney is just a place where almost everything is done for you. It's about the service and insane amount of stuff to do. The only real problem for me is that the rides all suck, I love going fast and aside from like Aerosmith, there's nothing there that even remotely excites me.

I don't have any issues with Disneyland, per se, but I never cared to go. If my kids wanted to go, I wouldn't have a problem taking them. They haven't asked, and I'm not going to suggest it.
