When I have a kid they will have a passport with actual stamps from foreign countries in it by the time they are 6-7. My kid is gonna have the type of vacations I could have never thought of as a child. Of course they will get to go to Disney at least once.....but I'd rather them experience real foreign countries than a manufactured one.

My son has been to 3 countries already and will get 3 more in before he graduates.

Both of my daughters have been to 8.

Of course all 3 have been to disney multiple times as well because disney kinda fricking rocks.

I live in Indonesia with my wife and 3 young daughters (<6). We have traveled to Bali, Australia, Thailand and Singapore several times since moving here. But the place my kids talk about visiting the most is Disneyland. They love it there and its an easy, safe vacation for young families. Taking young children on international vacations sounds great in theory but in reality its not the best idea. Young kids remember things that they can appreciate and enjoy. My kids give no shits about temples or architecture or history. Also traveling more than 6 hours on an airplane with kids is down right brutal.

I feel like Disney is the place to go back to when you're completely ok with never seeing the rest of the US/world. I can think of 20 other places I would rather bring my family to.

That's painting with a very broad stroke. Both of my parents are very well traveled and yet took us to Disney when we were young. It's a convenient and fun imo vacation for families and small kids. If you keep going back well into your adult years like it's the greatest place on earth, that's a little different.

Screw Disney. I have been so many times I lost count. ONE time is enough and make sure they are space mountain age. When you're young you don't have time when you're old the kids are gone. You seem to have the spirit to get it all done.

I like the 3 day trip to a southern town idea. Memphis, nashville, and Birmingham are all cool to visit.

Didn't think it was all that great when I was a kid. Can't imagine as an adult.

Will add that when the kids become older maybe early teens a trip overseas might be fun but hell the US has ski resorts, cabins in the mountains, white water rafting, etc. My 3 kids are late teens now and we are going on a 7 day cruise to the Caribbean in march. They are excited about that.

I think this is the part all these people without children are missing. Wait until you start taking them to shite you want to see and they are miserable. Fun times had by all!

Why not take kids where they can have a real experience for a change?

Some people love that plastic place in Florida for some reason. More power to them I guess.

Lulz, I've been twice in my life. Once when I was like 7 and about 6 weeks ago. Brought my 5 year old, and there is no vacation a child that age would enjoy more

I know a couple who are both in their early 50's, no kids who have been to Disney 30+ times. Hard to believe but hey if they like it

I have 4 kids, took them on international trips as babies just to get their passport books stamped. Then, when they got older, I made them shove them in their friends faces and laugh at them for being poor losers.

Have him eat lots of broccoli. Raises your testosterone levels and sperm count.

Congrats on wasting your money. They won't even appreciate and respect the sights they're seeing. Wait until the kid is a teenager and has a better sense of awareness.

Seriously. Where are you supposed to bring 5 and 6 year olds for their enjoyment? I know this is the OT and everyone's kid is a genius, but I have a hard time believing some 5 year old will appreciate Rome or Tokyo. Save that stuff for when they get a little older.
