Anyone here use TurboTax?

Been using HR Block but thinking of using TurboTax this year.
How easy is it? I've never done it on my own.
How much does it cost?
What are your thoughts on it?

I do and it's really easy. It links up with mint.com to import everything so my taxes take about 2 hours to do.
Cost depends on how complex yours is. It used to be about $60 for me to do state and federal, but since I itemized this year it is was 90 something.

It's pretty straightforward and easy to use. I've been using it for 5 years now and I recommend it to everyone. I pay about $30 for the federal return with itemized deductions and I file the state return for free at the Dept of Revenue site.

I actually went the other way, had used TT for years, but tried H&R Block this year. Just as easy IMO and cheaper.

I've had it for years. Makes it pretty easy as it stores previous years info. Add W-2 and import investing information. Done in about 2 hours.

Once you do everything the first time it'll carry everything over to future returns to make them easier. Don't know if they will read competing file formats but they might.
Depends on the version. I'm sure their website will provide full details.

I used hr block software this year and it is way more confusing than turbo tax. Turbo tax is much easier

I used turbo tax in years past but switched to H&R Block due to the shady move turbo tax pulled with the deluxe version. Turbo tax is definitely better but not sure it's worth the difference in price.

This. Started last year vs paying a CPA. I love it, and actually helped me to understand what I was doing and how my taxes/itemization works.
ETA: Filed 2 weeks ago, got my return last week.

I recommend tax act. It's 21.99 for state and federal and does everything I need it to, including house, investments, HSA, other deductions etc.
There's really no "better" software if you know what your doing IMO. Forms are forms.

Turbo Tax is easy and good to use as long as your filing is relatively uncomplicated. It's also free if you have USAA.

I've used it and was happy (would echo all the positive comments)- fyi southwest is giving 1000 miles if you use the link through the rapid rewards site

I've used it for years. I like the auto data import from the previous year, the auto data download for w2's, the e-file of the return, etc. It does cost more than others but that's not a big deal to me.

Will use something other than TT due to recent shadiness.

Had my identity stolen using turbo tax, and a false return made in my name. Now using a CPA.

Tank - I would appreciate hearing the details of your experience. Did you e-file or mail your return?

I use TT, I think it was ~$70 for fed and state. Super easy, this was my second year doing it and it took less than an hour (because my info was saved from last year).

sorry for late response, I filed a return with my CPA, well the IRS contacted me saying I already filed a return and received a 3800 dollar refund. So I had to file a police report with local and federal law enforcement, and go through hell to prove I had nothing to do with the filing. Finally I was contacted by an IRS agent 6 months later stating all was clear and that they had a lot of peoples identity stolen from TT. yes I believe it was e file as well

My CPAs fee keeps going up. $400 last year. Considering using TT this year but not sure how complicated my situation would be with TT. W2s for me from my full time and part time. Wife works on contract and we pay estimated quarterly taxes for her. We also claim our home office (% of energy and internet) and some work mileage. 3 ESAs for kids, two IRAs, and 3 regular stock trading accounts. Would I be ok trying TT?
