Hey now...
Some OT history buffs will tell you some of the longest threads on here are about NELA.

Is this all BS? They actually have a mardi gras parade with all the trimmings up there?

Its gotta be more like a redneck Nascar event than mardi gras, no?
Why don't people know stuff?

not sure why people always laugh at shite like this

its not like its hard to build a float, throw some beads and get drunk

but apparently only south LA knows how to do this

I rode in a Christmas parade up there. We treated it like Mardi Gras and threw beads and candy and toys. The rednecks went apeshit.

I walked security for a float there one year a decade or so ago. It wasn't bad but once we got to Desiard I was damned near having to kick kids in the face just to keep them from getting run over. They dive after even the shitty beads like they're made of gold and with little thought about the wheels nearly crushing them. #GreatParenting

Had to do "guard" duty for the floats last year. Crossing the Louisville bridge was like going over the border to a different country. I thought I was gonna kill someone a few times.
