The sports bars haven't helped. I sit below the Party Perch or the Lagniappe Lounge or whatever it's called and the amount of times I hear "I like it right here, let's not go back to our seats" is unbelievable.

We have the Cheapest tickets on avg for the league, it's pretty lame that more people aren't coming to games.

Well Larry Holder said on the radio yesterday he won't even watch a game until they are a few games over .500. Typical attitude.

Couldnt agree more but the fact of the matter is that NOLA is a football town until the Saints are done. Only way for attendance numbers to up is for this team to stay healthy and keep winning

Since I moved away from LA, I have had to resort to streaming to catch Pelicans games since they are never national here.

1. Small market
combined with
2. Much more of a football sports culture
combined with
3. Misconceptions/prejudices about NBA
combined with
4. Losing

That said, if they win and contend, fans will come. That's been established in
N.O.

The local media doesn't help. Even the Pelicans' flagship radio station DOESN'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT THEM. I know it's football season, but when Kristian Garic's topic is "Do you think Jimmy Graham's going overboard with the groping situation?" then you clearly don't have any football topics to talk about either!

I will say that Deke and Bobby will talk Pelicans. Obviously, during football season the balance tips heavily toward Saints and LSU.

I will also lay some blame on the pels media marketing people. They seem to have completely lost the momentum that the previous regime worked so hard to build

now is the time to saturate the market with a positive exciting message, and to get out door to door selling the team. I know they have good people there but they need to go apeshit with the message... No idea should be off the table

The best and most dynamic athlete in NOLA is 21 years old, and he has all the makings to be as talented and well put together as anyone out there. AD is the deal, on and off the court.

key word athlete.

as of right now, AD is arguably the best player in the league.

Drew Brees and Jimmy Graham aren't.

Anthony Davis is currently better at basketball than Drew Brees and Jimmy Graham are at football.

Will AD become an icon in Nola the way Drew has?
