Even though Mascona focuses more on the Tigers, he's still better in 30 minutes of Saints talk than those two for 4 hours

With an at best average receiving core Brees once again led a top 5 offense. The needs are on the defensive side of the ball. The offense would benefit more from getting good field position unlike last year when it seemed we were always getting the ball on our own 20

Yea because spread Qbs who rely heavily on the run have had great success in the NFL. Come on dude
re: Payton defending Browner
Posted by hungry hippo on 12/7/15 at 8:28 pm to pellietigersaint
That's his pride talking. This move has blown up right in his face. It's been bad since day 1. The national media is just now seeing for themselves. His play is terrible and his attitude is worse. I would question why we made him a captain in the offseason but this is the same squad that elected Galette

How he's still on the roster is unbelievable let alone getting significant playing time. I'd rather trot 10 players out there
re: Should the Saints fire Loomis and Payton?
Posted by hungry hippo on 11/29/15 at 5:04 pm to SportsGuyNOLA
Loomis should be the next one to get the ax. We won't fire Payton but we will let him walk for either Indy or Miami.

We should just be able to forefit. Its going to be hard watching that a-hole Cam dance in the endzone
re: Who is the new scapegoat?
Posted by hungry hippo on 11/29/15 at 4:46 pm to uptownsage
I've been saying Loomis has to go for almost a year now. He should be next. Payton is leaving after the season anyway
re: Have the Saints just quit at this point?
Posted by hungry hippo on 11/29/15 at 12:32 pm to shiftworker
based on that last 3 and out it looks like Payton has thrown in the towel hes looking for houses in either indy or miami

re: Dont be surprised if we go on a roll for the rest of the season.

Wish I could share your optimism sad fact is, this has more to do with personnel than scheme. Allen may make some difference but not enough to make up for this dreadful defense. Don't expect the offense to be any better either last week against Washington it looked like Payton checked out. His mind is on either Miami or Indy
re: We need to start a win streak going
Posted by hungry hippo on 1/15/15 at 10:41 am to htran90
finishing this road trip 4-1 would be clutch but I doubt we win out. I just don't see us beating out Phoenix or OKC in the 2nd half of the season
re: No Omer Asik bitch thread?
Posted by hungry hippo on 1/15/15 at 10:37 am to GynoSandberg
No one is disputing him being able to rebound or protect the rim. What most people can't stand is how he has the hand-eye of a 6 year old and is dreadful offensively
re: Some amazing stats regarding Holiday
Posted by hungry hippo on 11/19/14 at 11:04 pm to LosLobos111
He's done a great job facilitating and running the offense so far this year
re: Kristian: Are the Saints on the same page on and off the field?
Posted by hungry hippo on 11/19/14 at 11:01 pm to jptiger2009
I agree with Vaccaro something has changed with this team. In years past under Payton, we've consistently won close games. This year it has been a completely different story
re: Pelicans Schedule

We need to win all of our home games have a winning record against teams from the east. Just hope to go .500 on road western conference teams
re: Anybody else shocked that Stanley Jean-Baptiste isn't playing at all?
Posted by hungry hippo on 11/15/14 at 2:18 pm to tenderfoot tigah
We've had a rough time in the early rounds. Cooks, Jordan, and Vaccaro look like they will pan out. Reggie may not have lived up to the hype but I thought he fit well and played effectively. Only 4 guys under Payton/Loomis that have done well after being drafted in top 2 rounds
re: Thousands each game are missing the opportunity to witness Anthony Davis
Posted by hungry hippo on 11/15/14 at 2:13 pm to NorthshoreTiger76
Couldnt agree more but the fact of the matter is that NOLA is a football town until the Saints are done. Only way for attendance numbers to up is for this team to stay healthy and keep winning

102 Pelicans
100 Blazers
Lillard misses 3 to win it as time expires

With Holiday emerging as great player not only with his play but of his leadership. He's showing a better balance between taking over and becoming a scorer, and being a facilitator. Davis is the best in the business. This team has the potential to be great. If role players like Evans and Anderson can play at a high level this team will win a playoff series
