I had no idea how Michelle's lunch rules were set up

I thought the idea was just to offer kids healthy stuff they didn't want and hope hunger drove them to eat healthy stuff.
It's much worse. Micromanagement of our lives typical of leftists.

.yeah it's a pretty decent idea eating healthy is certainly not offensive or preachy in and of itself but it seems very heavy handed the way they're dealing it out

In lake charles schools, they used to serve gumbo and jambalaya some days and the kids loved it. that damn obama made them quit and start serving some bull shite

True story, that packet thing reminded me of how our eating habits are formed early. My wife is 10 years younger than me. One difference was fast food.
When I was 12 there were no McDonalds in New Iberia. When she was 12 there were LOTS of McDonalds in Baton Rouge.
So, I grew up getting ketchup from the fridge and only putting on a little when I had a burger because my parents had to pay for it.
She grew up grabbing 20 packets of ketchup at McDonalds. Using 1/10 of it and throwing the rest out because it was free.
Well, today she pours a cup of ketchup on her plate if I make fried catfish. She uses 1/10 of it and throws the rest away. Me: "This is not McDonalds. We have to by ketchup."
Her: "We can afford it and I can't break the habit."

The point being, she still uses the same amount as you.
Our Dear First Lady wants to control packets, not because of cost, because she thinks we can't make decisions for ourselves.
And the funny part, her fat arse is laid up at the White House eating whatever the hell she wants. These kids aren't getting fat at school, most of the time that food tastes like crap. They are getting fat on those Hostess cupcakes and fast food that mom and dad buy them, not to mention sitting in front of the X-box 6 hours a day.

Do people really think that the cause of Obesity in children is school lunches?

On a positive note, fat kids are harder to kidnap

Ketchup is disgusting. Nobody would be allowed to eat it if I were First Lady

Speaking of all of this lunch rules, forcing kids to eat healthy at school....
Do schools still do PE? I thought most schools had done away with it. If so, why? The children would get so much more out of being active in PE than eating that shitty food.

Guilty here too.

Socialism has zero to do with teaching kids how to eat healthy.
My school had no packets of anything. You got what the lunch ladies gave you.

Looks like they really haven't adjusted the food pyramid much.

I'm all for serving healthy, balanced meals. The problem is they are malnourishing the kids by serving very small portions of shitty food.
They should serve typical blue plate lunches...one meat, 3 veggies, drink and dessert. You get 2 meat options each day, 5 veggie options, and 2 dessert options.
My HS had choices between chicken strips, burgers, bbq sandwiches, club sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, fries, pizza sticks, etc. It was horribly unhealthy but very kids were fat because it was a private school and most came from middle to upper class families. The obesity isn't from school lunch, it's from poor choices of parents at home especially in low income households that eat alot of shitty food.

Don't you know that your wasted ketchup could feed 100 starving children in India?

Do they limit the amount of ranch dressing they can have for their fries?

This would be terrible, I couldn't eat lunch like that.
At my HS we had these like udders that vended ketchup. They were great, unlimited ketchup and you could also angle it and squeeze really hard to spray a stream like 15-20 ft.

the state mandating behavior in government institutions to "teach" is pretty much the definition of socialism
