We left the Levee Lot and headed south on RR. By the time we got to Brightside, you could turn left, but it was frickING CLOSED between Burbank and Highland. You literally could not take a straight shot to the interstate.

I needed to get to I-12, and didn't want to be funneled down Highland to I-10, so I doubled up Burbank, took Boyd over to Highland, and then was allowed to turn onto Lee at the light.

It was ridiculous.

ETA: It took 1:05 to get from the lot to the interstate.

It was a mess leaving the central campus. The parking maps don't show closed roads. Thus you have to guess at the open exit routes. We ran into 3 different road blocks that weren't marked on he map.
Basically you have to go the route they want you to go regardless of the direction you want to go.

Yeah, we had that issue. The cop said no left turn. I stopped and asked how Riverbend residents are going to get home. He stopped us on river road to think about it then told us to go up to Farr Park, turn around and come back. He told us to just drive around 3 barricades blocking north bound river road traffic. We then turned right on Brightside.

Others in the neighborhood parked on Farr Park street and walked though horse park and on to their house.

I thought not being allowed to park along Nicholson was supposed to fix these traffic problems after the game.

yes...but that is nothing new, if I remember years past correctly...

fwiw, all of the barricades and contraflow typically end one hour after game ends, so I just break out the grill and cook up another round of burgers...by the time I am done, I can go the way I want to go...

Left game at 9:30pm. We sat in hayfield for 50 minutes as traffic was stopped on River Road - cops were making people turn on the road by baseball stadium. after 10, they started allowing people to go straight down, towards L'Auberge.

I live in Riverbend. I stayed for the duration of the game and had no problem taking a left on Brihhtside. They must have figured it out by the time I got there.

I worked one of the intersections that did not allow traffic to turn from Highland. The theme for the night was deffinitely "but, but, I live right there! How do I get home?"

Most of the people that spoke to us in traffic seemed to support the new system. 5-6 assholes tried to tell us their opinions as if we had the ability to magically change everything for their individual routes.

The system isn't very favorable to people who live in the area.

They never know how to direct traffic after the games. Would also help if Nicholson had more than 1 lane in each direction as well.

I got there right after they blocked it off. literally the car in front of me turned left onto brightside.

So I roll down the window and one cop yells "Go straight!". I reply with "I live on brightside"

The other cop says "Ok." and then they put up the barricade and ignored me. So I went to the next apt complex, did a Uey and turned right on brightside. We really struggled to not yell "frick off cops" or something similar.

Does anybody really think it was going to be easy to leave campus with "100,000" people? Also when you park in a lot with 3000 other cars, you might have a wait getting out.
