What kind of wine would you serve with a cheeseburger and a beer?

Burgundy? Paison?
Whenever I ask wine experts this question, they think I'm joking, but I am being serious.
A cheeseburger is good eating and if any foodie is being honest, it ranks right up there with the fanciest of dishes.

Why not just drink the beer?

If you already have a beer with your burger, why would you need wine too?

For a burger, I would drink whatever I liked and stay away from seeking recommendations.
Better to show your cajones to the world and just say,
"I had a bacon cheese burger with a Falstaff and a magnum of Thunderbird last night. Mighty Fine meal. Lots better than Pink Ripple."

No need for the wine just make sure the beer is a Strawberry Abita.

Is this some sort of GA thing...the beer and wine with the cheeseburger?

You know what? You did ask, so I checked with my sommelier and the following were recommended:
Caymus Special Selection
Opus I
BV Private Reserve
Stag's Leap Cask 23
Dunn Howell Mountain
Heitz Martha's Vineyard
Any of these would be an excellent choice. Not listed in any certain order, so try them all and see which you prefer. Be sure to let them breath before drinking.

The last thing I want with a burger is a glass of wine.

Try to find a 1959 vintage Chateau Lafite Rosthchild.

Meh. I know the OP is trolling, which is why I'm not responding to him, but as someone who drinks more wine than beer, I can think of quite a few wines that I would enjoy with a good burger.

Honestly, I eat my burgers so rare that cheese won't melt on them.

Two kinds come to mind....the one I like as a first choice...the one I have on hand as a second.

Had a bottle of '94 once. It was really, really good wine.

Dear OP,
You can't ask such a ridiculous question and then run off without explaining it. Why would I want wine if I already have beer?
