Star Wars prequels are the only answer here

Also the 4th Indiana jones movie. All the acting in the mentioned 4 movies was awful

Plots were feasible

AI.

It started off pretty strong but the last 30 minutes of the movie kills the thing, and the ending just takes a big ole dump on the whole thing.

Quantum of Solace. If not for the writers strike, it would have been much better, IMO. There's a skeleton of a movie there, but nothing was fleshed out in a satisfying way. Could've done with a more competent editor as well.

It's a shame how that movie turned out considering what Daniel Craig did with Skyfall and Casino Royale.

What more do you need to know about the SEALs? One of them has a wife or fiancee' that wants a horse. They're close, you can tell from the beginning. We are all aware of our conflict in that area of the world and why they are being sent out on their mission. The movie is about surviving a compromised mission. I don't need to know why Luttrell may or may not have bought a fluffy unicorn for his kid (I'm just grabbing that out of the air, no idea if he has kids).

Look, that's just me. I could be totally off base.

Alien: Resurrection

I don't find it that bad, but you have an awesome director, a classic series, and a not so bad story.

In the end it just didn't come together.

And it's still better than Prometheus.

I'm going to have to go with Public Enemies and American Gangster. Both had a hell of a lot of potential but were both very meh

Godfather 3 (probably would have been better had it not been made)

Dark Night Rises (it was good, but just missed the mark)

The Matrix sequels (killed the franchise for me)

Terminator Salvation (finally we get to see the future and you give us this shite?)

X-men ( We as kids grew up with the Cyclops beef with Wolverine over Jean Grey, we expect it. We don't expect the X-men team leader to be a cold emo pussy)

if you have nothing to identify with the characters its really hard to give two shits about any of them.

this is especially true when they give away in the movie title that only one of them makes it and oh by the way we know who it is not only b/c Wahlburg is the star but b/c they told everyone in run up to the premier.

Not really.. In fact, one of the jokes of the movie is that no one knows anything about where the captain comes from. The only other "background" they give is that all of Ryan's brothers were Kia

I knew they were going to try to going in, knew they did based off the way the film opens, and didn't care that I knew b/c Spielberg was smart enough to actually make his characters three dimensional.

Lone Survivor? Nope.

I don't know why you keep bringing up SPR either. LS is nowhere near as good and a big part of why SPR is so much better is because the audience gives a shite about many of its characters thanks to a production team that understood the importance of characterization.
