Clock stops on 1st down. Ole Miss would probably be in prevent. You give yourself a chance to get in position for a field goal. It is all about giving yourself a chance. You do remember what happened the last time we played ole miss don't you?

A mediocre high school coach would have enough sense to call a time out. Reason clm gave for no time out was go for block. Let clock run down to 3 sec. Insanity. At least he owned up to it. Geaux tigers.

What I can't understand is how there was nobody on the sidelines who stepped in either. I find that equally crazy to understand.

These are things you think about before the last play. You know what you are going to do way before the play happens.

Les is an idiot with timeouts and clock management. But we already knew that.

Are we supposed to believe LSU couldn't have gotten at least to midfield for a good hail mary shot? Mett, Beckham, and Landry.. You gotta be shitting me.

North Carolina almost got in field goal range in 10 seconds against Miami Thursday night.

So much hay being made about the last half-minute of the game. LSU lost it way before then.

Either our coach was giving up or he was clueless to how much time was left/how many timeouts he had.

How many game clock blunders does it take to admit that our coach is the luckiest man in Louisiana? Lucky, I say, because a man who is obviously mentally challenged is the highest paid public employee in the state, by many orders of magnitude.

What good would calling a time out have served?
you sound like miles, you wouldn't have wanted the ball with 20 seconds left with a chance to get in fg range? I guess miles didn't want to either.

like letting the clock run down to 6 seconds with no chance of getting a series on offense?

What is the risk?

EXACTLY. 4 straight losses where the D couldn't get off the field.
Which gives LSU a higher probability of winning?

1. getting the ball back down 3 with no timeouts and 25 seconds left or
2. holding OM to a 3 and out and getting it back tied with 2 minutes left?

The fact that its having to be explained to you makes me think you have mis-framed it and are probably too entrenched to ever understand it, but I'll explain it to you anyway.

There is no barrier to situation 1. There were 11 freaks of nature in Ole Miss jerseys who practice 6 days a week on the field trying to make sure number 2 didn't happen.

Nobody is saying we would rather 1 than 2. 2 not happening is forgivable because there is a legitimate opposition you have to conquer. Nobody from Ole Miss was trying to stop Les Miles from calling timeout.

The funny part about all of this is ole miss messed up first with the timeouts, they should have never called theirs at 32sec before their 3rd&5, he should have either forced lsu to use their last one before the 3rd down play or just call it at closer to 10sec mark not the 32sec mark.....they misplayed it and left us a small chance but the we gave the seconds right back

29 seconds gives your TEAM a chance. As ahead coach you should do everything in your power to give your team every chance at victory. Would 29 seconds have been enough? Not a high probability, but atleast you have a chance.

So we didn't complete some passes last night? We didn't need a Hail Mary.

I dont think that we had a timeout to call. Espn had an error by showing that we had a time out left. We used our last timeout on 2nd down. Espn took a timeout away from ole miss instead of lsu. It was a mistake by espn

No, the game summary sheet showed that we called timeout with 6 seconds left.
