I have a crazy story but don't feel like sharing. Too long and kind of unbelievable.
I went fishing yesterday and caught and took pictures of what might be the state record bass...but I don't feel like sharing....

I killed a black bear this morning off Hwy 49 attacking a hitchhiker. I have video but don't feel like uploading it.

We were n Orange Beach this week.... Saw tons of them. Pretty close too.
Brother in Law took his kids up on a helicopter ride..... Said there were hundreds along the beach and the sandbar. He saw a hammerhead in almost the same spot where he swam earlier that day.
They are there, by the bunches. Always have been tho....

hollywood gave sharks a bad image
they are not all savage killers. if a shark ever attacks a human its either: 1) an accident from mistaken identity, or 2) they were provoked

case in point.... since the inception of the SEAL teams in the early 60s. No SEALs on training or combat missions have been bitten. Only two SEALs that I am aware of that have been attacked/bitten by sharks...were both on vacation....
and nobody spends the amount of time like they do in shark infested waters(surf zone and coastal harbors).... and... a lot of that at night/dawn/dusk - the worst times to be in the water...
if you have ever flown low level over coastal areas.... you see way more sharks than you want to..
if you think about it... though 12 folks swimming steathily ashore doesn't look like a meal..
but 400 splashing in the surf and pushing bait further out.. .flashing glimpses of fish belly white skin.... could entice and impulse strike....
a marine environment is not a swimming pool or bath tub...
snakebites are another thing..... I am aware of a few of those...

same with us spearfishing, we are in the water every weekend all over the gulf.
there have been ZERO unproved shark attacks on spearfisherman, to my knowledge. People have had they fish eaten by sharks but they are scared of people

Was there last week and talked to local guy fishing on the beach at night and he said the stingrays were spawning on the beachs at night at that time- stingrays are a favorite food of hammerheads.

I just caught a 200lb 7' bull shark out of Destin. Whipped my arse for an 1 1/2hr on a 40lb line and pulled the boat over a mile. Harder than any tuna I've caught. Regret not bringing my 1911 on board.

Some pretty good footage here (not me but since people around here are not as creepy as the OT I figure this is okay)

Friend of mine posted a video of a 6-7' hammerhead in less than a foot of water just cruising around. Never seen one that big that close. Crazy shite.
ETA: After seeing the video posted, it appears that my friend just shared the video. I thought it was hers.

Yeah must've came in during high tide or found a low spot on the sand bar.

are you the guy i saw in the video on FB with the dark hat on and light blue/green board shorts holding a beer walking in the water with the hammerhead?
no, the one I was near was a bull shark. I did have a bud light in one hand though

The sharks on the Atlantic side like the taste of people more than the gulf ones. THANK GOD!

So I will be wade fishing in Fort Morgan, where there are also supposed to be alot of blacktips. Do I have to worry about these frickers making a snack out of my legs? Im a skinny cat so they would be dissapoint anyways...

Nah, most are very small anyway. I've caught hundreds of them on Dixey Bar over the years.
