miles' football iq...why would miles not run shepard after his td?

this is my opinion. please feel free to disagree.

why would miles not run shepard after his td?
shepard was used as a receiver and caught a pass.

now seven/eight sec foes have to prepare for shepard to run and to catch. miles did not have to show shepard run again and again.
the sec foes have to prepare for shepard, ware, ford, hillard, odell, etc, etc, etc.

why would miles show the foes any of his secret plays? i did not feel that lsu would lose when towson went up 9-7. why do yall want to show our secret plays? didn't mett throw up two 40+ td's when needed? did not the offense run for scores as if in a class?

yes, there were fumbles and penalties.
2007, lsu was #1 in penalties.

lem graduated mich in economics. a regular college degree usually is a 110 iq. and economics degree is closer to 130. genius is 150 and 130 is gifted. 130 and higher gets you into mensa.

lem is a gifted (maybe genius) football coach.

the offense did NOT show many packages.
the defense did NOT show many packages.
why do the numnuts what lsu to slaughter towson?

miles knows that 70+ points can be done, but why?
to make the dummies on the rant happy?
to make ap voters happy?

what wins bcs championships? DEFENSE and IQ.

remember miles the "mad hatter" or "riverboat gambler" pulling out games w/ secret plays?
why show your hand to the 7/8 sec foes? some think it was luck, i think it was genius.

are you sure that miles is not game planning in favor of season planning?

i judge lem as very smart. he has won more than anyone (ANYONE) on the rant could have guessed or even hoped most of the negamiles ranturds are gonna be proved wrong for the 8th year in a row.

and, if i'm wrong, well, i'm not too smart.

I agree with pretty much everything you posted.

My dad and I were talking the other day about his "stubbornness," as some call it, when he doesn't do something different.

Example: Not a lot of passing plays against Towson. Why doesn't he throw it more? We've had 2 fumbles while running the ball. Why not throw it more so they'll quit stacking the box?

Yes, I said this and I'm one of the biggest Miles supporters out there.

Then, I started to think, you know, he probably doesn't want to reveal too much of his hand.

I know a lot of people will disagree with me on this, but I really believe that Miles learned something from 1/9 and he won't be in that situation again.

He showed his hand in the Arkansas game, then in the SEC game, and it was the same thing for the BCS NG. The other team, that team that everyone seems to be so obsessed with lately, particularly their coach, caught on to that. Say what you want about Saban but he's a great coach, I have to give him that.

Anyway, getting back to the point, Miles got burned for showing his hand too early and he won't do that again. I really do believe there's something to that.

Play selection should not matter when you are LSU and you are playing something called a "towson". What the frick is a towson?

The LSU offense should be able to let the towson OC call their plays and still win 40-0.

Secret plays and Les Miles' 130+ IQ aside, what happened Sat night was inexcusable on every level.

All that may be good, but that still does not explain our players coming out flat and looking downright unprepared for the game. Which lands on coaches' shoulders. I would not even go so far as to say he has the highest football iq out there. It showed on 1/9 and the SEC CG. Either that, or on 1/9 he really didn't care. He may be smart in football, but that does not make him the best coach. See Bobby Valentine, he may not be a football coach but he's a living breathing example of a smart guy in the sport but not a great coach.

Showing his hand? What the frick. You don't think teams like bama are going to prepare for everything? Who gives a shite what we haven't showed. What we have showed is absolutely garbage. Miles football iq is very very very small. Thank god for the defense.

While I can see where you are coming from with the Towson game but what about Auburn? He didn't want to show anything there either when LSU was down in the 3rd quarter and only up by 2 in the 4th? He had that much confidence in his defense that McCalebb wouldn't break a run and get Auburn in field goal range to win the game? I Highly doubt it...

Believe what you want but this is who LSU is.. Miles will continue to play it safe until he can trust Mett not to turn the ball over.

Teams don't do this. They look for formations, movement and down and distance waaay before they look for a certain player. The problem with Shepard in the backfield is, the defense almost certainly knows it will be a draw to him because that is what it is most of the time. A play action to him out of the shotgun would be a smarter play.

Do I feel that we are saving plays or formations. No.

Miles clearly wanted to throw the ball Saturday night and clearly Mett and our O-line didn't do so hot. A couple of big plays against a bunch of players who will be teaching PE next fall made a poor performance salvageable.

And lets not forget in 2003, sabans LSU team was the most penalized team in the sec.

Ill tell you why miles doesnt run shepard, cus hes not that fast and he gets raped by sec defenses. If we run that play, which we have before, the chances of him breaking 78 yds is very slim.

You could've quoted this from his last presser to enforce your position.

I want to believe you are right and we did use a very vanilla offense.

I don't think a coach will do this on purpose though for one major reason. It makes your team look bad and gives opponents confidence. Florida is going to see the Auburn and Towson game and see a team that's vulnerable and they will play better because of it.

I'd much rather have a team that crushes everyone to bits and infects their future opponents with "fetal-position crying in the corner" fear
