I remember watching Mike Hillman and Trey Prather play on the freshman team. If I remember correctly they beat the Ole Miss Freshman team, led by Archie Manning.

I wanted to be a kicker for LSU as a kid and my dad was taking me to a Shaq Basketball game, walking by Mike's cage a man approached us and it was Curley H. He shook my hand and I told him I wanted to be a kicker for LSU one day and he told me he would recruit me highlight of my youth

Still remember my first game I was 3 years old, 1987 vs Rice. I still have vague memories of this game!! I guess its one of those things no matter how old you are, you never forget...

Fall of '81 was my freshman year. We started the season playing Bama on national TV. Walking to class that Thursday I saw the CBS Sports trailers next to the stadium and thought to myself this college thing is going to be cool.

We arrived at the stadium Saturday about 4pm for a 7:30 kickoff because we just showed our ID's to get in. Got to see The Bear walk his team in there street clothes (crimson suit coats). With the student section jam packed by then we "greeted" Bear and his team.

I still remember carrying my cloth stadium seat as a kid. It was bigger than me but I insisted on carrying it!! I had the best time there as a kid. Not the same now.

I'm surprised no one's brought up the convenience store that used to be run by the old blind guy east side of TS.

I remember playing "in-betweens", where you bet a portion of the pot that the next card would be between the two face cards. The blind guy always got a house share of the pot.

My memories of games at Tiger Stadium start in 1958 when I was 9. In those days, men wore suits and women dressed up in their best dresses. The stadium dorms used to be only easily accessible area to use the restroom. Freshmen wore beanies and pajamas to the game. ROTC was mandatory. The area off of Nicholson on the east side of Nicholson was nothing but grass parking with one huge oak tree. Everyone used to try to get there early to park under that tree.

Prior to the early 90s I can never remember a mass exodus at the end of the 3rd qtr... Sure some would leave but not like it is now...and definitely not at halftime like Saturday.

There would be for the North Texas type games. I remember going to the LSU/Ohio State game that ended in a tie, and remember people leaving early for that one.

For the first Sugar Bowl LSU went to in years in 1987, only fans left in the 4th quarter were Nebraska fans.

When LSU fans actually referred to players by name instead of initials.

Faulk or Cecil? Heck, I remember seeing Wendell Harris play. And Gawain DiBetta. And Warren Rabb.

Wow! Prather. I saw him play when I was in the band
at Shreveport Woodlawn. That school's first five quarterbacks:

1. Billy Laird
2. Trey Prather
3. Terry Bradshaw
4. Joe Ferguson
5. John Booty

Lived in North Stadium in 81...Thanksgiving break someone let Mike out. Knocked down a tree right outside my window. Probably pissed Tulane was beating us 48-7.
