A friend who sells appliances told me if you’re putting the freezer inside where it is climate controlled get an upright freezer. If the freezer is going in a garage when it gets hot, chest freezers are better and have more insulation. Just going by what he told me.

Plenty video recipes on YouTube. Oregano is a key component.

Alex Box concession questions.

I haven’t been to a game in a few years and I’m going Tuesday. What concession items do you recommend and avoid? Just looking for something decent.
You should definitely search recipes on YouTube. Usually there are several recipes by different people for each dish. Pick out the one you like or take info from two or three videos and customize your own recipe to your liking. I usually pick the videos with the most views. Also, you get to see the preparation.
If you like a sweeter sauce Vinny’s. It’s da best.

Search YouTube …….. carbon steel pan, uncle Scott’s kitchen. He’s an expert.
Whatever brand you buy get the extended warranty. My excellent appliance repair man told me that years ago. The extended warranty saved me. I had my new frig replaced under warranty. Beware cheaply made parts from……..China.

Side dishes:

1. Rice with butter, little salt, lot of fresh ground black pepper.
2. In a skillet add half stick of butter. Let melt then add one large onion chopped small. Cook onion till edges turn slightly brown, add more butter, add as much pepper as you want then add the rice. Salt to taste.
3. After adding more butter to onions add an 8 ounce can of drained green peas. Heat the peas then add the rice.

Bonus: leftover spaghetti sauce and meatball over rice.........no cheese.

Don’t know about Baton Rouge but a while back I called Nor-Joe Imports, an Italian store and deli, in New Orleans. They carry Guanciale but were out of stock when I called. If you’re in New Orleans might be worth checking out. Guanciale is pork cheek. Walmart carries pork jowl which is pork cheek but it’s smoked. Smithfield brand.
Exactly how I feel. All batter and paper thin fish.
What restaurant in Hammond or Baton Rouge serves the best Thanksgiving meal? How is Piccadilly cafeteria? Buffet would be nice.
I got a muff at Ryan's Thursday. It was good BUT they put mayonnaise on it. Muffs don't have mayo. Next time I'll tell them to hold the mayo.
I have a recipe for cucuzza that is absolutely fantastic. I would post a pic but don't know how to post pics here. I can email you a pic if you want. Recipe using chicken thighs: brown thighs after seasoning with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Brown until almost fully cooked. Take out and set aside. In the same pot add olive oil if needed and fry one medium chopped onion. When onion is clear add one half HEAD of chopped garlic. Fry about two minutes. Then add one can tomatoes, with juice. Let that cook for about ten minutes add a tablespoon or so of sugar. Return chicken black to pot. Let cook twenty minutes or so. Add. Cucuzza after you have peeled it and cut it into pieces a little smaller than the top joint of your little finger. Add salt and pepper to taste along with a small palm full of Italian seasoning. Should take about thirty to forty five minutes to cook at a simmer. Goes good with French bread. Oh, when you put the tomatoes in if you want you can add a couple splashes of Tobasco, Worcestershire sauce and a couple bay leaves. You can eat it like that but it is much better topped with grated Parmesan cheese. Well worth the effort.
