Lived in North Stadium in 81...Thanksgiving break someone let Mike out. Knocked down a tree right outside my window. Probably pissed Tulane was beating us 48-7.

A guy that works with my dad stayed in the dorms in the stadium.

He said it was really hot, the A/C wasn't great and it took a while for the heat to come on when it was cold.

For me, I remember when just the east side had the upper deck.

I can't wait to see that south end zone enclosure.

Lora Hinton, RB was first.

Also, who remembers the Baby Bengals, the freshman football team when freshmen were ineligible

The only food you could get in the stadium was a hot dog or hamburger.

They still had melodic percussion (I.e. xylophone, bells, marimba) in the Tiger Band.

there used to be one game per year thadt was designated Band night. Several High School bands were invited and they used to sit in the south end zone. they were allowed to come on dthe field for halftime with tdhe Tiger band.

I don't feel so old reading some of these posts. Yes, I lived in West Stadium as a student. It wasn't air conditioned, and the bugs were fierce. Many a time I remember showering and there were more bugs in the shower than anywhere else.

You didn't need a ticket for games. They would clip a little notch into your student ID. Mine looked like a comb by the end of the season.

The Bengal on Highland would sell beer by the pitcher and think it was $1.00 per.

If you can remember the first night game in 1931, like I can Sonny. I sat with Huey Long

Jes pickin. My dad wasn't even born yet, but this is a great thread. Love reading all the old stories and reliving a little bit of the nostalgia through all of you. Keep them coming!

Oh yes, I do remember the horseshoe stadium. I was a boy scout at the time. They were working on the south endzone.

That's my first memory, but they regularly started at 8:00 as late as the late 60's.

Charlie Mac referred to Sanford Stadium at Georgia as "Behind them Bushes," rather than "Between the Hedges."
