What has been your favorite thing that you hadnt tried to cook prior to seeing it on TD? Or what recipe changed the way you cook a certain dish.

Mine is the armadillo eggs. I had never eaten those before and now I find myself craving them anytime I go to smoke something.

TreeDawg's black-eyed pea casserole. We changed it up a little bit, but it's on our rotation of favorite side dishes.

Changed a couple of things up in my Jambalaya recipe after reading JP Poche's perfect technique.

Want to do the Prime Rib technique, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Shrimp and andouille mini muffin cakes by a mile. I changed up the recipe because it needed an adjustment, but the idea came from here and I've made them quite often. Great recipe for parties and it can be easily changed to crawfish and andouille. Highly recommend it.

I think the crash hot potato recipe was one of the first things I posted here. Wasn't mine. I posted the link from Pioneer Woman. For any new folks who haven't tried those, it's in the recipe book, I believe or go to the PW website. Great side.

There isn't really any one particular dish that I've pulled from the board, but I've collected some good ideas and advice along the way.

And some of the restaurant recommendations have given me some ideas as well based on different things I've ordered at those places.

1. Jasmine Rice - On the board for years, then one day someone casually mentions it and everyone has been using it. How come no one told me before.

2. Panko - On the board for years, then .....

3. Technique - Don't put the steak on until it comes to room temp and coat with olive oil.
